I was thinking something more along the lines of this but with a dedicated air supply.

Yeah, Lenny and Carl should have their own breathing tanks with all that plutonium lying around.

Probably best to just lock a chain around the refrigerator and haul the whole thing out. Let whatever evolves in there have its own contained biosphere.

YouTube changed the playlist links in the sidebar to start the playlist instead of bringing you to the playlist page. This has completely ruined the entire point of me having playlists.

It's New and Improved! For your convenience!

I use the Firefox add-on YouTube No Buffer to forestall that sort of thing.

Instant bridge technology, the first of its kind!

I'm guessing also the last.

Terrible... I was right next to it 40 min before that happened...

It was designed to withstand the strength of a Category 5 hurricane, the fact sheet said, and was supposed to last for more than 100 years. Category 5, my posterior...

Some assembly required, which was apparently not completed. That's the problem with prefabricated 'drop in' construction. It has to be designed with every stage analyzed fully. I'm sure that this bridge, if completed, would have been properly engineered to withstand a hurricane. Unfortunately it apparently was not engineered to withstand gravity at whatever intermediate stage it was at today. Fair bet it wasn't really "engineered" at this stage at all.

See that bit in Serenity, where the Operative gives this speech about he's a necessary evil, and the ultimate utility of his work will be to create a world where people like him cannot exist?

That's how I feel about French philosophers.

I wonder if they even read the instruction manual when assembling it....

Valid question, though somewhat short of the mark. There is going to be a big debate over whether the company that produced the modular bridge is responsible, or the contracting company that was erecting the bridge is responsible. With so many injuries and fatalities it's a sure thing that someone is going out of business, so that is likely to be quite a heated debate.

Might be a peevish rant, but… I started reading Natalia Batista's Sword Princess Amaltea webcomic, then, before I was even halfway through, some company decided to print it and publish it on paper in a country in which I am not, and as a condition they removed all but a few ‘preview’ pages at the beginning of each chapter from the online version. So they're basically using the Hulu model: sell in the US and possibly Canada and pre-emptively ban the rest of the world from seeing it. Eurgh!

Do explain more.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't wearing his moderator's hat at the time.
Arakhor sleeps with his moderator's hat on. Luckily for him it's quite a snazzy hat. It has a chin strap and everything.

I though his moderator hat was an enchanted Daedric helmet...
