As if I wasn't doing bad enough, my driver's side door won't open from the outside anymore.

I used to like Civ3. It was very fun to play.

But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked.

You have an Avatar Mod? Where did you find it? I must have it.

I'm noticing an irritating pattern with my tethered internet. Apparently, not only does it refuse to give me internet whenever the temp goes above 85 F, and even worse above 90 F, and also during thunderstorms, it eventually finally does connect -- but only when I am away from the computer. As soon as I come back, the internet goes down the drain again.
Get a better connection, PE. Why's your avatar gone?

Play the Zombies mod first, I'm having a blast beta-testing the latest version. No melee combat unless you really don't know how to play. Urban warfare and flamethrowers FTW!

Nothing like 8 hours of laying in bed, wide awake, trying to get some sleep. I am now well past the 24 hour point of no sleep. And then, to make matters worse, the activities of the morning took a nose-dive. Twice. What an excellent way to start the day.......

I have an 8 hour car ride ahead of me, oh joy.. At least it's in my Aunt's Audi :P

I've been confiend to my home for the past few days with some sort of cold. :ack:

My grandparents van slowly broke down over the course of a couple years. The side door was the first to go; it wouldn't close all the way. Then it was the seatbelts, most of them moved really slow and cut into you if you weren't constantly adjusting them. Then the worst part came, the air conditioning stopped working! In a van with 6 people travelling in 90 degree weather. Most recently the driver's window gets jammed. It takes to people and a good 5 minutes to close it.

Well, my hobby of the past 4.66 years (since jan 2008 at least) is about to end. I followed the professional starcraft bw scene in korea, and the last real professional tournament (this one is an individual tournament) has its finals tonight after 12 years of history.

just some images for view of crowds:
Spoiler last real teamleague finals from april; same venue as later tonight :

there are more people to the right not shown in this image; this was held in a basketball stadium.

The seating doesn't really continue to the left in the upper stands; people were to the right and on the court obv.

Spoiler teamleague finals on the beach :

Eh? They can now start doing something real for a living, I guess.

Leave StarCraft to the amateurs!

typically the best 1-2 people on a team had 100 million KRW/year salaries (89k USD) :p. Varied by team though; some only the top guy made any money and some like 5 players were all payed well.

but the income model was very poorly distributed; like top 25-30 or so made salaries of like >30k usd, but even if you were a low level A-team you basically make like 500 usd a month (but had free rent + food) for being forced to play 10-12 hours a day. B teamers made less than minimum wage, and they had civil contracts as opposed to labor contracts and could get shafted anytime. There are 8 teams today but just 2 years ago there were 12 teams--cut to 10 then cut to 8. You have about 7 A-teamers, as teamleague format is a best-of-7 in their matches each week. Different player for every match, and 1 player can be reused in the last set "Ace set", i.e. if tied 3-3 use your best player.

Prize pools of the individual tournaments have been 100,000,000 - 108,000,000 KRW for a few years, distributed as like 40,000,000 KRW first place, 20,000,000 KRW second, etc etc through ro16.
1 South Korean won = 0.0009 US dollars, so basically drop 3 zeroes.
