Your plan is futile .

Honestly! You missed the perfect time for the Borg smily!

Resistance is futile. You will be archived on schedule. :borg:

Rantx: people insult ketchup, people insult mustard. Not good for exams.

/logs off

Can't have a dog or a bratwurst without a healthy helping of ketchup and mustard; dijon, brown, or spicy mustard if you can get your hands on it!

Rant: I've known that my PoKéMoN Silver GBC cartrisge didn't save the game but... but Gen 2 best PoKéMoN Gen, and I just want it back. I NEED IT BACK!!!

Dude, I feel your pain.

I booted up my Pokemon Blue cartridge a while back that had my 'dream team' lineup of Lv100 pokemon in it. The battery had died, they were all dead.

My childhood officially died that day.

I was reading Bulbapedia. Because nostalgia. And it says that the battery run dry sooner than other games due to keeping track of the date in Gold and Silver. And it specifies the battery type. I just have to buy one and replace it. :D

Sorry to tell you, but once the battery died, you lost all of the data. :(

The only thing you could've done to save it is to make some custom rig to keep the cartridge powered on while you changed the battery or found some experts to do it for you. But now that the battery is dead, your pokemon are dead. :(

I know, but the data is lost anyway. I just like that game, those graphics, that everything... it's like the best PoKéMoN game ever, and PoKéMoN is my childhood, I just won't let it die.

I have a few other cartridges from my sister's old games... unless oh God, I hope we didn't throw them away in the move. They'd be perfect for practice.

Dude, too bad we both don't have the DS versions with online battles. I'd totally battle you.

 To be fair, I do have a DS. Which I haven't touched in ages, tbh. ;)

I have Diamond, and got to the point of getting most of the legendaries. But at some point I grew up tired of running behind them (there are these 3 legendaries that go flying around constantly, and I just can't get the third one) and a bit of the game itself and of my really old DS. :(

Guys, you have to get Black and White II if you haven't played them yet. They're generally acclaimed to be the best main Pokemon games ever made - sans the originals, if you count nostalgia.

I miss Germany. And horseback riding. It's been too long.

I do want it, but lack the time to invest in them. Also, all of the new things they added make it seem very complicated with a steep learning curve. The last game I played was Silver, so any features beyond that will be new and unfamiliar to me.

I agree with Hobbs. I played Pearl, and kind of disliked alot of the extra, flashy features they added. Some of it became distracting to the Pokemon part of the Pokemon game. Potentially unrelated, but I also dislike most of the new pokemon. Anything after Emerald tends to annoy me.

Although there have been major changes in Pokemon games in the last few years, they're really not hard to grasp at all (and even if you don't grasp them, the game is still relatively easy to beat).

As for flashy features, I'm unsure of what you mean. I agree that the third generation (Emerald and the like) was the best looking game graphics-wise, but as for the "extra" stuff (like the watch thing) you have to keep in mind that almost every single Pokemon game has included something like that to separate it from its predecessors, including Ruby, Emerald, FireRed, and Silver, and they've all "distracted" from the Pokemon part of the game, so it's not something new at all. Not to mention they're easy to ignore if you have a mind to.

As for the new Pokemon, they're are most similar to the original Kanto pokemon by appearance than any other Pokemon game, including Gold and Silver. It's fine if you don't like them initially, but once you get used to them, it's apparent they're superior in design to almost all the other pokemon in almost every other game (for the record, I agree that the Sinnoh Pokemon were the worst).

(If you want to make a Pokemon thread somewhere, feel free, I hate to hijack a thread but...)

The thing that gets me about the new mechanics is that they add that many more layers to catching a given pokemon. It makes it near impossible to get near completing the Pokedex without spending inordinate amounts of time on it, investing a lot of money in multiple games or getting lucky and having friends who do that.

OK, so this pokemon is only out at night? That's fine, no big deal.

Oh, but this one you have to trade while holding a rare item you can only get by doing X, Y Z and you also need that rare item to evolve another pokemon but you have to choose because you only get one item? Kind of annoying, but I can manage for one or two pokemon.

So now you tell me I have to trade this pokemon at night after catching it while it was running across the map while making sure that during the trade it's holding a rare item while also making sure it's paired with a hermaphrodite pokedex gobmonster while standing with one foot in a tub of beer and also sacrifice the baby hair off of my first born to the geezer in the tree in Hinto park in my other pokemon game? I think I'll pass on that...
