Thanks for your help hobbs and Mr. B. I have to go to work tomorrow for 12 hours with her but... It will end eventually.

Now is a better time than ever I suppose to pick myself up and move on. I can't influence her so I won't, I have my own life to deal with. As Mr. B pointed out I am getting quite close to someone else. I wouldn't want this escapade to ruin my chances so to speak.
 
I want to wait until she comes back after the New Year, as she is leaving next week for Christmad. It doesn't seem right asking so soon before she goes. Perhaps I could ask her before she goes if she wants to do something when she returns.
 
Yes. I'd do so. Right away. Vulnerable time for single women, is Christmad. Ask her out for a pre-Christmas drink. Anything.

War metaphors are severely overused in the US, especially in politics.
 
Lame duck session right? Will Democrats have the majority to reverse some or all of that? Presumbly Snyder will veto, will they have enough to override?

Snyder will probably sign most of it, but fortunately he did veto the restrictive voting regulation that was clearly designed to discourage younger (and more liberal) voters from voting the last time it passed the Legislature. The Right to Work Legislation is revenge on Unions for trying to get pro-Union writing in the Michigan Constitution, and the new Emergency Manager Bill is a slap in the face to Michigan people, because this bill is set up in a way that it can't be recalled by a petition, unlike the last bill which was successfully put to a referendum, where Michigan voters overwhelmingly shot it down. The bill that bothers me the most is the legislation that makes it impossible to recall elected officials. The Republicans are clearly trying to cover their ass.
 
Does DC only have one rock station?

Oh don't worry, Chicago's not much better. We have the Loop, 104.3, and the Drive. All the other stations either play crap or crappier music.
 
But Chicago has downtown. And I think they also have a Hygro somewhere around the place.
