Random Rants XLIV: I Can't Find The Answer

It's 7.30am Wednesday and I'm about to head off to work. I had yesterday off. I went out Monday and Tuesday night so I've had one hours sleep since I woke up Monday morning.

That's some ugly numbers right there.
Best of luck! Do you have an office where you can close the door and nap?
:yup: and it's good that you see this, and don't just follow the opinion of the whole rest. That's something really applaudable, because it shows that you have a brain and don't just follow this like a mindless cow. -> So it's rather something for the raves thread :).

Is that a German expression? Just curious. Here it's usually said: 'like a mindless sheep'. (Hence the made up word sheeple)

It is so damn cold here. What the hell. Plus the windchill. I walk outside for a few minutes and lose all feeling in my extremities.

Thank God, those days are long gone for me. Give me an early night, a sound sleep, and a cheery disposition to greet the day with.

And you don't wanna welcome the night?

Nah, it's just late. Don't think it's really a saying, but there's something close with cattle (not sure if that would include sheep).
Not really discussionworthy at the end ^^.

Same here. Today was a high of 25.

No, that's not Celsius. It's Fahrenheit, though it feels as if it could be passed off as Kelvin.

Nickelodian put all of the Avatar the Last Airbender episodes up online last night but they're not available now. How cruel is that? I only got to watch about four episodes

I don't mind the cold; you can always bundle up. I waited for ten minutes while it was snowing and somewhere in the 20s, but it didn't bother me because I had a coat and a mask. Heat and humidity, on the other hand, have virtually no solutions and are absolutely miserable.

If he lives in the US, why is he using Celsius?

Ah... touché.

22 Celsius is summer-weather where I live

Right now it's -17 C and is expected to go to -20 soon. That's something like 1 degree F.

Edit: Got the math wrong. -20 C is -4 F

A cold. In summer. That... that sucks.

So I walked out the door to go to my first MWF classes of the semester only to find a busted water pipe in my basement. It flooded everything and snuffed out the gas furnaces so gas started filling the basement. The TV's that were down in my storage locker down there got wet and it's so cold the water is probably frozen inside them now.

I am going to miss at least half my classes trying to deal with all this.

The plumbers said the cause wasn't a frozen pipe, they said the pipe was just so old and worn out that it sprung a leak. They don't maintain this place at all like I've complained about before. I don't know if I'll be reembursed for any of the damage. I don't have renters insurance
