cross out correct answers on tests that would be worth 1/2 - 3/5 partial credit for stuff that is wrong and like 1/8 partial credit (was a like choose 3 of these 5 problems to do, I decided to constantly switch around which problems I should try)

So I went to career fair and was there at door-opening. SpaceX was there and I knew I had to get there first or I'd be waiting for 45 minutes to talk to them. See, SpaceX is my dream employer, but it's also the dream employer of the entire AE department, so I had to beat the crowd.
Anywho, I got their first and had a great chat with their rep. She liked all the experience I had and was impressed with my background and enthusiasm for SpaceX. Then she told me the only thing my resume lacked was design team experience.
I felt like I had been slapped in the face. I made it clear that some of us have to work if we want to eat and that I had been steadily employed through college. I also stressed my professional skills and all the work I had done on the college board, etc etc.
She said, 'Great, you have everything we are looking for, just make sure you get on a design team'. To which I replied "Let me know when SpaceX invents a machine that adds an hour or two to the end of the day and I'll get right on it". It was a joke and we both laughed, but inside I was seething just a little bit. It was a great chat overall, and I had 0 expectations of getting hired to begin with(like I said, they had the entire aero department to choose from and they are just starting out recruiting for next year, so they'll actually have the entire aero department of multiple colleges to recruit from).
But still, it was just a tad insulting for her to tell me that - I get I don't have design team experience but I work my butt off and I have every extra-curricular (besides design team) that you could ask for! It also sucked because every single recruiter I've talked to (that I wasn't trying to get a job from) has told me that they value working experience of any kind and they don't look down on college students who work their way through college and thus don't have the time for design teams. But apparently they lied. And my job is technical and it's given me valuable skills! ARGH SO MAD.
Not really, I'll try again next year.
Another rant: Out of the 20+ aero employers I talked to, fully half were only hiring grads and a quarter of the rest only wanted me to apply online. So I felt like I wasted most of yesterday at the career fair.

I have been extremely busy for the past couple of days so I haven't checked in on my Soapbox thread. It's going to take a couple of hours to go through it all now.
Though I am glad I picked a good topic to soapbox.
