Firstly let's get this part out of the way....any past comments about my lack of concern for post count I henceforth retract, so no point going there.

I understand that serial thread posts drop off when the thread archives, but ain't no way I could have lost 200 on account of that. Please explain.

Oh, I regularly lose quite a few posts that way... I usually don't really care but it is a bit annoying or even frustrating when it happens.

Because MY VOICE IS A LIE! I always hear myself in a way which seems to be different than the way everyone else hears it! And it's frustrating!

Solution: Don't record your voice, that way you can delude yourself that you sound like the awesome-you you always hear and not the not-so-awesome-you that you sound like when you record your voice.

Because MY VOICE IS A LIE! I always hear myself in a way which seems to be different than the way everyone else hears it! And it's frustrating!

When you speak you are hearing your voice resonate inside your skull, your chest cavity and stuff like that. It sounds fuller and richer to you than it does to everyone else because only your ears can pick up those resonations as they are physically attached to you.

It sucks and it is jarring, but your recorded voice really is how you sound.

I agree with you on this. I've tried very hard to get used to the sound of my own recorded voice. Just can't do it. It really bugs me that that's how I must sound to other people - even though it doesn't seem to bother them at all. (At least, they've never remarked on it.)

The difference happens, I suppose, because I hear myself normally mainly through the bones in my head, rather than purely through vibrations in the air.

I didn't have any popups while using Chrome either.

Then you're lucky because it's happening to all three browsers though IE seems the most affected at the moment.

Oh wow I lost even more than 200. Geeze they must've archived a whole bunch of threads because there's no way we had that many in just a rants or raves thread. Look like JoanK lost a bunch too. :\
