Damn you, TV Tropes Wiki... DAMN YOU!!!

Because you just discovered it and now it sucks up all your time, or because it left you unable to enjoy crappy TV shows and movies like you could before? Both have happened to me . . .

Actually, the first time I went to TV Tropes I stayed up and read some 5 hours non-stop, but (I don't care if people will believe me or not :p) the reason was not that I couldn't believe how filled with "teh awesome" the site was, but that I was constantly getting a feeling of "hey I've already thought about that!". I don't have any training whatsoever in anything regarding movies or theater or scripts, but I had already recognized everything I read about there long, long, long before reading about it on that site. I could never enjoy movies like some people did, I guess the reason was that I used to have this kind of thinking "in me" since the very first times I could understand the meaning of a plot. With some friends with which I've discussed these things I had already developed even a naming system for those "tropes", and some of them even bear an obvious similarity to the names given there.

I went to a college preview day today and was NOT impressed. I don't know why, I just have a severe sense of dread about the place.

Where are you going to college? Trust me, it's awesome. Much better then secondary school.

A place really close to me. It's a successful, established sixth form, but I just didn't like it. Don't ask me why, it's sort of hard to explain... I suppose it's the new people, new experiences, new surroundings... I never have been a good person for change.

Because you just discovered it and now it sucks up all your time,

This.

Actually, I discovered it a while ago, but I still will spend hours there clicking blue links if I try to find something.

Well I was like that when I first started at farnborough but you soon get over it - you make a lot of new friends, people don't treat you like children, and yeah it's pretty awesome.

I hate people who think TV Tropes reduces creativity and appreciation of cultural works. That's like saying the laws of physics reduce the appreciation of a beautiful sunset.

People didn't treat me like a child in highschool, and all I have time to do in university is work. :(

You're not in the UK, maybe it's different where you are. Besides, college isn't Uni in England, we go to College for two years between high school and University.

I had no internet connection on my vista wireless computer. It was only until I unplugged the wireless network for more than 10 seconds that it worked -- 12 hours after I start up my computer.

so i have all my classes set up on monday, Wednesday and friday and i come to register for my last class and its only being offered on tuesday and thurdays, its complete and utter bull crap

I feel like such a suck-up and tool quoting my teacher in my Modern History assessment. But it's just such a good summary quote.

Might lose you marks :mischief:

Might lose you marks :mischief:

But it's a really good quote...
:p
And I'm not even going to bother speculating as to what mark I'm going to get. That English assessment I thought I'd failed I somehow managed to come 1st in my year in. I don't know what to believe anymore.

:dunno: bout' you but I used to write utter tripe and somehow do well.
