Random Rants XVI: Whambulance Dispatch Center

Of course, the true rant is the existance of summer reading lists.

I absolutely loathe how Google and the other search engines I know of do not really have a "MUST include" function. I'm ok if something is going to turn up 0 hits if, well, it does - then I'd know it and find some other way to work around for what I need or simply give up. But on just random things I continually am frustrated by either getting no or worthless results - I don't suppose anyone here really has a way to help but I'll lay out a scenario just out of my rant-full frustration:

Let's say I'm looking for Canadian labor statistics. When I first search this though, I simply get links to a ton of sites with the word "Canadian." Right, my bad, so I quote everything so the words must be consecutive. Now the problem sets in - 0 hits. Try the same thing with "Canada labor statistics" and it also fails. Then, as desperation sets in I try the hated combination - "Canadian labour statistics." But, there are still no results. At this point, I have little recourse to find what I'm looking for - if I bring any term out of the quote, say Canada + "labor statistics" I'm back to just getting random websites about Canada, and it would take ages to get to what I'm looking for. Note this is an entirely hypothetical example, I certainly hope this search would be at least easy enough to find, but the similar principle permeates the system. If there was a way to force all of the terms to be included I'd love to know about it so when I'm searching for x + "y phrase" I don't simply get a zillion results for x.

Darn it. I think I have one upstairs in my house, but the other one I'm going to have to use Spark Notes.
Well, maybe I spoke too soon. Is your school doing a "one read" thing where the whole school reads the same thing? If so, then your library should have had, like, 1000 sent to them like mine did. You could also try other libraries in your district if you haven't already or if they use a district-wide database.

I just got hit in the face by an old lady love handle.

Trying to do something important and having to contend with a slow, malfunctioning online server is very trying on the nerves. [pissed]

Today I talked with a candybar in a supermarket like it was an old friend. That earned me a few odd looks. My sanity meter must be extremely low.

My dad doesn't believe the Holocaust happened. Come on, I knew you were an idiot but this is just ridiculous?

OT: I accidentally deleted the space between 'but' and 'this' and I noticed 'butt'. I'm so immature.

Tell him my grandfather saw it happen. All I can say :dunno:

My dad liked Zeitgeist. :(

My Waterloo joke bombed...

You sure he doesn't believe it in general then? I know some Polish guys who believe it happened, but claim that the Jews stole 4 million deaths as their own(they say that only 2 million Jews were really killed, and the rest of the claimed Jews killed were Polish and whatever else christians killed for hiding or protecting Jews) and I know one of them goes further and doesn't believe that it was a systematic thing or anything and just 'dissidents' being locked away same as the Russians did. I don't see how it's even possible to flatout deny that it happened.

No, he just believe nobody died in any of the concentration camps and its a worldwide Jewish conspiracy. Thank God that I have intelligence.

OT, but Ulyaoth, you are the only person I have seen on this forum that has been here for longer than me but has less posts.

Well, that's quite insane.

And that's because I never really posted much until a while ago. And I still don't post all that much.
