Random Rants XXXIX: Coming up with a title is stressful

I'm getting fed up with the commenters on my local newspaper website.

One of the things that suck about visiting at my folks is that during spring, summer, and early fall, my mom keeps the air conditioning at a constant, ice-cold 60° F. :cringe: (16° C for the wussies. :p )
Ice-cold? Only if you're wearing a bathing suit. Put on a long sleeve shirt and get used to it. ;)

16 C is "ice-cold" and you're calling us the wussies? :)
No, I'm calling you wussies cuz you're using this inane "celsius" abomination of a temperature measurement system. :p

Fahrenheit FTW! :smug:

That's some damn warm ice.

You're in Minnesota. How can 16 C be ice-cold?

It feels that way because I'm right next to the AC vent, and house rules dictate all internet users to be in plain view of everyone, and my spot is the only spot I can be. :(

What is this I don't even

Your family are a bunch of weirdoes PE.

Now, if you need a thermostat and calefaction system instead of a n old-fashioned stove then you're the wuss.

Well, dude, you don't like iCarly.

Which reminds me....

Rant: Having gone to my parents' this weekend has made me realize I'm a much bigger snob than I thought. :(

Rant: People who go 25 miles an hour down a parking lot in a torrential downpour and come INCHES from hitting small children should be removed from the road. I shouldn't have to watch near-death when I'm doing a cart run.

I managed to take some good pics of the Venus transit. :)

Admittedly I was too lazy to get proper filters, but I was able to use my small telescope to project the sun onto the surface, and took pics of those.

Sadly, while I took 22 pictures of the mid-transit sunset, only 3 came out decent, the rest were too blurry. :undecide:

But still worth it. :)

Plus, I as a bonus, a Boeing 747-400, my all-time favorite airplane, flew overhead at a LOW altitude during the sunset. I didn't think I'd have enough time to get a pic of it, even though I probably did, but it was still awesome nonetheless. :)

The end of the transit is going to be able to be viewed in the UK in a little time, but there are big cumulostratus clouds blocking most of the sky here. [pissed]

That's funny, because the vast majority of the people observing the transit whose posts I've seen on off-site forums have complained of clouds.

The tables have turned. :mischief:

It's ridiculous how much weight I can gain in less than week. My gym membership expired a week ago and I've been rather sedentary since, my waistline is pissed at me.

When I work out, I burn 5,000 to 6,000 (sometimes up to 7,000) a calories a week, and naturally my diet reflects that. So while my diet kept my weight stable under those conditions, when I stop working out I'm eating an excessive amount of calories.

Going back to the gym today though, so I'm happy about that.

Wow. I found some old school papers from elementry school. My handwriting was better then than it is now. :(

I know how you feel... my writing was better then too, by virtue of having to use it a lot more often.

It's a matter of practise, I use it almost every day and we tend to do fine.

I'm magically hungry and stuffed at the same time. :dunno:
