I'm getting fed up with the commenters on my local newspaper website.
Ice-cold? Only if you're wearing a bathing suit. Put on a long sleeve shirt and get used to it.One of the things that suck about visiting at my folks is that during spring, summer, and early fall, my mom keeps the air conditioning at a constant, ice-cold 60° F.(16° C for the wussies.

No, I'm calling you wussies cuz you're using this inane "celsius" abomination of a temperature measurement system.16 C is "ice-cold" and you're calling us the wussies?![]()
That's some damn warm ice.
You're in Minnesota. How can 16 C be ice-cold?
It feels that way because I'm right next to the AC vent, and house rules dictate all internet users to be in plain view of everyone, and my spot is the only spot I can be.Ice-cold? Only if you're wearing a bathing suit. Put on a long sleeve shirt and get used to it.![]()

PlutonianEmpire said:I managed to take some good pics of the Venus transit.
Admittedly I was too lazy to get proper filters, but I was able to use my small telescope to project the sun onto the surface, and took pics of those.
Sadly, while I took 22 pictures of the mid-transit sunset, only 3 came out decent, the rest were too blurry.
But still worth it.
Plus, I as a bonus, a Boeing 747-400, my all-time favorite airplane, flew overhead at a LOW altitude during the sunset. I didn't think I'd have enough time to get a pic of it, even though I probably did, but it was still awesome nonetheless.![]()
That's funny, because the vast majority of the people observing the transit whose posts I've seen on off-site forums have complained of clouds. The end of the transit is going to be able to be viewed in the UK in a little time, but there are big cumulostratus clouds blocking most of the sky here.![]()
