Can't stand unions. Actually, let me correct myself. Can't stand my union. Any place that requires me to pay them money per month or I lose my job is bad enough. But being closed at 11:35 AM on a Friday? That breaks the camel's back, and that's no straw.

Disgraceful, just disgraceful. If they want me to pay they should work for it damn it.

Okay, I'm steamed. "Steamed" as in the-coffee-kettle's-whistle-just-launched-into-orbit "steamed".

Once a week, I have an online race. The racing season just started, so it's been about a month since I last raced. Today happened to be that first race of the season. I was looking forward to it for two weeks. I make it the race half an hour early, which I have never been able to do before. I get loads of practice. My week just can't get any better. But it does, because I get a great start to the race and am running third. Then my week goes into a death spiral: I have to get out of the race I had spent two weeks looking forward to, at the halfway point. Why? Because of all the hours of all the days of all the weeks of all month, someone decided that he needed a "volunteer" to carry a basket of laundry up the staircase for him.

While greatly annoyed, I wouldn't be as steamed as I am now if that person who couldn't carry the basket of laundry up the steps had simply refrained from giving a devious grin. (No, I'm serious, he really did have a grin on his face, with teeth shining bright. I'm not making this up.)

So yeah, I'm steamed right now.
