You get it for getting a band 6 (or e4, depending on the subject) in 10 units or more. i.e. 90%+ in 5 subjects (which is the max you have to do). About 200 people get it every year, IIRC, so I'm pretty happy.

Yeah, end of high school. Tomorrow I get my ATAR, which is the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank, which is a rank between 30.00 (below that they don't give one) and 99.95, with 0.05 increments on the way. It's based on the best 10 units of my results I got today, standardised and stuff. Using some crazy maths thing that no one knows how it works. And then that ATAR is the sole entry criteria for university (barring some special courses and scholarship things). I applied for Law, but you need 99.40 to go where I wanted to. So I'm still nervously waiting to see if my results were good enough. If not, well, I'll take it from there. I have many other options that my marks should get me into.

Well if you're in the top ~200 in the country you should be grand.
Well, it's only NSW. And the thing is that although I got above 90% in everything (13 units), there are a lot of people who do the minimum number of units (10) and then get 95% in 8 of them, and 88%, or something, in the other subject. So they'd get a better ATAR, even though I'm on what is called the 'All-Rounder's List'. I could go and plug my scores into an online ATAR estimation calculator thing to get a rough idea of what I'll get, but they are known to be inaccurate (because each person's rank is dependent on the marks of other people), so I think I'll just wait it out 'til tomorrow. Luckily I'm not all that fussed about law. Although it would be sweet, there are other options.
Edit: Actually, it turns out that something more like 1000 out of 70 000 students got this Premier's Award thing. Meh. Still good.

Just got one more final tomorrow and this accursed semester will be over. My grades will be horrible but whatever as long as it's over. Hopefully I pass calculus, if I have to retake that I'll be extremely pissed.
