Turns out the hostage situation down the street wasn't one at all; it was just some suicidal guy who planned to burn down his house after his wife and kids went to a divorce lawyer. The cops were all over though so it's easy to understand the misconception.
There was also an unrelated fire that broke out a few houses away. They managed to put that out so I'm happy.
Grandpa is in town so we can have one big family reunion. And donuts!
I've racked up a few extra dollars today due to labor. Every bit helps finance the Marian Empire!
I think that caused you emotional distress, you should sue the police for their gross overreaction and false information. In fact your entire neighborhood should file a class action suit against the police department, a 30% contingency fee is all that's needed.

Well, the police technically didn't lie; we heard it was a hostage situation from some neighbors, which was believable given that even SWAT members were showing up. But only one guy? What is he, superman? They need an army to take down one person?
Apparently cops where I live are infamous for overkill when it comes to what they send in; just the other day I saw FIVE cop cars pull up to a single house. I think we may have an oversupply of them, just as we do in construction workers(seriously construction is always going on; I think they just rotate parts of town to "rebuild" in order to keep jobs).
That said.. is it just me, or are you a little more eager lately for people to press legal charges? Then again... more demand for lawyers means more opportunity for you. (That and of course, suing people over just about anything is the American way)
