^By a strange association of ideas I was first reminded of ‘ruby characters’ and then of Japan and how they have crane machines but with slices of cake inside instead of teddy bears and other toys. If you are good with the machine you can get cake for less than its cost.
It is a happy thought.

Well I got to my civic duty and feel a little bit good about myself. I was walking the dog just now and noticed that one of these big red valve blocks for feeding fire hydrants and building extinguishers was leaking. It wasn't a severe leak by any means but the steady drip meant something is wrong with it and the problem could get rather worse should an actual fire break out and stress the system. I tried to call it in but the line was closed for the weekend so I sent an email to the local fire authorities. Hopefully they can fix it and save some water at the very least.

My novella is at 19800 words and nearing completion! :)
I am very happy with it. Something like half a chapter left (3000-4000 words).

Edit: The novella is now finished (will need corrections, but that comes later) at 21800 words :)

The first two chapters have almost the same wordcount (7800-ish), but the third and final one is just short of 6000 as things now stand.

Just this. It's good.

Also, I did have some of that ruby chocolate Kit Kat and it is the silliest thing. Sure it tastes different, but like the guy quoted in wiki, it's just fatty low cocoa chocolate and raspberries. At least it sorta tastes like that. It's fine.

At the local grocery store I saw some "ruby cocoa" chocolate bars. They were pink.

I initially thought they just spilled food colouring on the manufacturing line and decided to market it as something new instead of throwing it out. But it turns out it's a real thing.
Somebody told me about this stuff months ago, but I can't find any.

Are those chocolate-dipped potato chips the ones shaped like Pringles?

They're shaped like Pringles. I found them at the pharmacy. I can't find them in the grocery store.

Maybe try your pharmacy then!

Do they have to be?

My pharmacy actually sells tobacco products. It's in a separate section of the store, but...yeah.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards our fine neighbors to the north: Canada. Your nation has produced three truly great individuals who display everything great about the Canadian people.

These three citizens I refer to are the three man team behind the development of Maximum Football 2019. They have brought college football back to the world of video games and for that I am eternally grateful. Thank you Canada.

As I was scrolling don the page I chanced upon this widowed line and thought the Canadian secret breeding programme had once again managed to produce a three-sibling hockey team.

Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen would be my choices.

Nah, I'm just happy to have a college football video game again, even if it's an unpolished indie title.

Cool thing is they also made it so you can structure your league like US college football or Canadian college football. And they got around the licensing issues that killed EA's NCAA Football series by just making generic teams that the user can then customize any way they want. I've spent the past three days turning all the generic teams into real life teams and haven't actually played a game yet.
