My problem isn't inducing sleep, it's remaining asleep. I wake up after about 4 and a half hours. I'm hoping the melatonin well make me drowsy so it will be easier to fall back asleep.

Drinking alcohol in the evening is a bad idea, as it disturbs your sleep cycle and makes you more likely to wake up. An excess of salt has also been linked to waking in the night.

However, given a chance, the body will adjust to the natural day cycle without you even noticing. This has happened to people on "dark-sky" camping events, where even people who would normally be prone to sitting around a campfire late at night would soon find themselves waking and bedding down as the sun does.
What is a dark-sky camping event?
You could always read various articles on tax code.
Let's not get too drastic, OK?

Yeah, my bucket list presently has just a single item on it, and it is to go to some place in the SW I saw featured that's the least light-polluted spot in the US (don't remember where exactly, but assume I'll be able to google it, should the opportunity ever arise), and just gaze up at the night sky.

Presumably an event where a bunch of people look at a sky with little light pollution to observe stars
That sounds likely, especially with Gori's explanation.

Hey, we'll make it one of those CFC meet-ups.

Manitoulin Island is pretty awesome at night.

I'm thinking that there is no place in the SW that would be better for this than the south shore of the big island of Hawai'i. I suggest going there.

OK, CFC meetup but not in Unitestatesia.

YouTube recommends I listen to Walking on Sunshine, which is the perfect soundtrack for a depressive neurotic like me.

So that instead of feeling depressed you end up feeling angry...I hate that song.

I hate it too. But I like it better than most of the songs I hate.

It would be hard to be a depressive neurotic while listening to that, so maybe they are on to something there.

Which one? There's a couple songs named that... I like the one by Jesus Jackson.

And I realized after looking it up that the one I like isn't even called Walking on Sunshine. Oh well!

You could always listen to DEVO: Time out for fun. That song is actually darker than it seems.

I'm assuming Katrina and the Waves...just watched the video...mop haircuts and Converse high tops...how could anyone be depressed?

Am i the only one who puts DEVO, Marilyn Manson, Phil Collins, Eminem, Wall of Voodoo, Rob Zombie, Pink Floyd, Gary Numan, Matthew Good Band, System of a Down and Nightwish on the same playlist?

I don't do playlists, so I can't say that you aren't.
