Random Thoughts 3: A Little Bit of This, and a Little Bit of That...

I totally agree everyone's feelings are completely valid, I do believe getting a university education is a sign of your work ethic, and also shows you've spent formal time practicing with learning and understanding complicated concepts. So I certainly wouldn't say it's universal or anything, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that in general people who have university degrees think more critically about political issues and may be more likely to understand advanced ideas that might be more difficult for you to grasp without an education.

Thought of the day: Hygro has a university education, Commodore doesn't have a degree.
I do, but I'm a few language classes away from my own degree.

And how far away are you from Commodore's degree?

Commodore how far away am I from your degree?

You're behind me. Assumptions...you know what they say about them.

Thought for the Day: Endurance and stamina often times win out over skill.

I almost got run over by a moose and her calf yesterday. :rudolf:

Yikes! Did all three of you come through okay?
Oh yeah not a scratch to anybody. She was just trying to get past us but we were in a narrow pass between a river and a steep mountain side so for a brief moment it got a little too hairy for me and my dog. Those moose mothers will definitely not tolerate any funny business around her calf and can charge if cornered. Luckily this mother wasn't looking for a fight.

What assumptions.

What assumptions.

None on your part. That was a dig at those who assumed I didn't have a degree simply because I said having a degree doesn't make one's opinions any more valid.

I am moved to poetry: :smug:

Don't loose* to a moose
Or you will deduce
That an antler goose in your caboose
Is profuse moose abuse,
And so vamoose.

A moose and her calf
Is no belly laugh.
It's a gaffe and a half
And your epitaph.

Almost forgot my thought of the day.

Thought for the Day: My hands are starting to look old.

Me too. This summer was hell. I've been outside more in the last week than I was all summer.

I believe I remember reading recently that the summer was more humid than usual across most of North America.

How bad was the smoke from the fires this year?

We went through weeks here of pink/beige sky, blood-red sunsets, and smoke advisories. Then, after a few clear days, it rained. And rained. And rained. Then it snowed. The snow is mostly melted now.

At least I think the snow got rid of the pigeons.
