Or those too poor to afford a full-sized bathroom.

This heat is unbearable.

One thing I found helpful during the heat dome in 2021 was to dump cold water over my head every so often (just used a medium-size bowl and leaned over the kitchen sink). I didn't even bother drying my hair (just don't do this if your shirt would be damaged by getting wet).

Have men always sworn more than women? And, if so, why?
Definitely not! Historians of the English language describe how women were equally praised for their command of exceedingly expressive insults and swearing, right up to the point in 1673 when a book by Richard Allestree was published titled The Ladies Calling.” Allestree says that women who swear are acting in a way that is biologically incompatible with being a woman and, as a result, will begin to take on masculine characteristics, like growing facial hair or becoming infertile. He wrote, “There is no sound more odious to the ears of God than an oath in the mouth of a woman.

From this article about Swearing:
Swearing is Good for You

Perhaps we have a new path for women to transition to men?

Interesting article, but even without knowing he was in London, I guessed he was British just from his choice of childhood swear word. ;)

Like Airplane!?
*Takes a swig of Astérix's magic potion before ploughing through twenty Hare Krishnas, a misguided autograph seeker and a door-to-door salesman*

Exactly! It's that film where there's Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and he doesn't work enough on defence!

In Canada, it's reasonable to answer "Crisp" if asked how you like your coffee.

We have a chocolate bar called Coffee Crisp (are they ever addictive...).

Am I allowed to make jokes about liking one's men like one's coffee?

Well, I like my women like I like my coffee... I don't.

The universal speed limit, the speed of light, is within 0.1% of the nice round 300,000 km/s. Does that mean that meters and seconds are divinely inspired units that we have got just slightly wrong?

Maybe in the not so distant future (if it becomes practical), new units will be exactly based on the speed of light to be used also for local speeds.

I think the meter is now defined in terms of the speed of light, or at least the wavelength of light with is a linked feature.

Maybe I'll make a thread called "So-so socialism." Maybe the problem is that socialism has been overhyped, and if offered a mediocre version, more people would be receptive.

Try telling that to the cop.
Yes! As illustrated by none other than Andy Weir, author of The Martian, in his homepage!
