Because it is more complicated. climbing Everest is a competitive business that supports the government and the local population. There is no single cost to make the climb. It is the local industry. Limiting climbers would be similar to the US government or State government dictating how many cars could be sold in region or how many meals a restaurant could serve.

A truck driver has been detained after loads of potatoes were scattered over an important bridge linking two Danish islands. Was it an accident? Was it a protest over new trucking laws?
