Personally I loved our settler gauntlet run just so we could build the mids. :lol:

End of day this was a tough game. With a DOW early on we did well to survive.

One of hardest maps I have played.

Seriously well done all. That was a lot of turns to play this week.

Haha, 1878AD! First SGOTM I played where it felt the main challenge is to beat the AI, not to beat the other teams. :lol:

Anti TSR obviously did the job here and had an amazing win. They did well to keep Celts at pleased. The fact they finished so late goes to show how tough this Monarch map was. It was easily deity difficulty really.

X team lost their capital due to AI DOW. Around 1100ad.

FE also lost their capital due to Celts in 1775AD. They only had 4 cities at 1650ad and still needed cuirs. Really tough to win a game like this with 4 cities so late.

Insolita Suspicatur - Lost Rome 1984. They were running out of world wonders to build. They only had 2.

Caput Mundi is kaput.

I teched to infantry, upgraded all grens/rifles, and as sending them to Persiopolis in preparation for an all-in attack on Zara, I was cut off by Saladins culture (and as his worst enemy, he won't open them). So plan B was to just mow a path thru him. But he had artillery, wiped the stack in Persiopolis, mopped up the units on the way. I gpt peace for all our cash and 48gpt, but power drop was enormous (with predictable consequences). That is to say, as I was rewhipping infantry and artillery, Gilga declared war, took Gaul on second turn of war, and marched straight to Rome with over 40 units (marines, SAM inf, inf, Cavs, artillery, you name it. No stopping it... The Rome was captured in 1984.:cry:

Anyhow, we weren't going to win this. Zara wonder-spam had us beat a long time ago.
Overall 5 teams and 3 lost their capitals. Kudos to IS to play it out to 1984. Great effort to last that long with the super charged Ai here.

Looks like FE actually lost all their cities and had lowest score. So Spoon will go to them.
 
Yep so FE will get spoon. You can tell when I took over the war effort at the end. Our power graph dived. Probably due to the suicide attack on the Sumerians new capital when I had 2 cannons left. Managed to take it. Also because we ran wealth near the end.
