Single Player bugs and crashes - After the 13th of August 2013

OK i tried the GEM at what you suggested and i get this CTD after i conceded control and it was doing an autoturn for 42 turns.

Minidump suggest the crash is unrelated to any recent changes, but I cannot figure out a circumstance that would cause the crash it indicates. I don't suppose it's reproducible from the most recent autosave is it?

No it wasn't repeatable, but i believe it had ALOT to do with CONCEDING control to other Leadership from Sitting Bull to Red Cloud.

but i just had another one, i defeated to lead other armies and then it went into a WfoC and i then clicked on windows and then i brought it back up and poof CTD

I do NOT believe it has to do with recent changes. These probably have been there for quite awhile but how many people "Concede and Defect?"

Agreed. I'm on that has never done that and I'm no sure how, so could you post me a save where I can do it along with instructions on exactly HOW to do it (yeh, I know - I suck), and I'll give it go...

ahaha you never . . ;)

I was trying to get one, because i knew you'd ask, but then i had a :crazyeye: and my mind went blank:old: I believe they call it a "Brain Fart.":mischief:

I have been at this GEM map for over 2 hours now, so i will post in about half /1 hour from now, sorry.:twitch:

OK i am back now, here is the "supposed" turn that goes to reject/accept or defect, if not it will the next turn(maybe) just select defect it then should go to WofC crap.

OK i am really getting teed at this Revolt CRAP, heck i haven't even made it that far and i get it ever 10 turn, then 2 turns of revolt, heck i cant get far with that, and now i get then taking OVER my civ and defeating them completely, thats pure crap IMO. I can see it in Ancient when i have stuff, but not this darn soon.

Its goes from revolt of 2 turns, then take over civ with 7 revolt turns then "they" just defeat you, even with 2 Clubman 2 stone throwers and a Guardian, poof gone?? (pic 1)

How did you manage to get so much REV instability in your capital while you only have 1 city!!? Are you playing at a weird game speed or something? REV may just be (very) badly tuned for your settings if they are unusual - I've certainly never seen a prehistoric capital wanting to revolt before!

Anyway, the fact that there is a single city leaves your civ with 0 cities after the defection, and the game isn't handling that (I'll try to see why, but fundamentally it's not really something that should happen). The root of this seems to be some REV bug that is causing a crazy amount of instability FAR earlier than it should be occurring - since I've never sen this, and it's not obvious what is causing it by looking at your game, I can't suggest anything in that regard. Do you know what is unusual about this game that might cause all the REV instability?

@Anyone who knows much about REV - please load this game up and see if you can spot what might be causing the ridiculously early instability.

I'll have a look in a few hours. Today and tomorrow are not going to be good. When I get a chance to finish the BUG merge I want to start on the Rev update so that I know more about it's python.

I had a revolt in our main multi-player game in my capital already. (Really sucked to be in anarchy for a few rounds!) I think the main reason was unhealth being tough to control at that stage. There could be some civic factors that would be balanced for later game but not so much at the beginning too. Not sure.

Already uploaded, the SiouxGEM above in a few posts. . . UP UP

Was playing on Epic.

Besides above, with most recent SVN i got this??

I saw that earlier and was unable to reproduce it. I couldn't find the file it was talking about either. Is it in an FPK?

Thats because its a regular BtS file

I cant get anything in C2C to load now??

EDIT: Reverted back and its works again.

Yes it is! Eternity is over 14K turns. Epic is supposed to be about 2400 turns, iirc what ls612 set them to be.

I had a look at the city and it looks like you deliberately play to get your cities to revolt!

Nope it been revolting now since about turn 40ish then every 10 turns like i said it revolts for 2 turns, so 10 - 2 = 8 turns is all i get, cant do much in that kind of crap going on??:(

What i did was it asked me if i wanted to change leadership so i did, just to see what would happen, and hence all this, then it keeps also asking me to go back to the original LH also, about 4 times.

But what do you mean by "deliberate?" I always play like this, well without accepting, i always rejected before.

You have not built the important buildings "Stone Gatherer" (production), "Stone Tools Workshop" (science and commerce) and "Public Stoning" (revolt reduction). Get a religion and you don't need the latter. You also don't have any hunters/chasers out there on auto hunt bringing in the food.

Thats because i just got over a 42 auto turn that it does from accepting a new civ. If thats the case then it should not even be offered.

1. Not sure if this is a bug or not, but every game I start with latest svn, number of beakers are always bigger than commerce generated by first city, (sometimes only by 1 beaker, sometimes by more then 10). That is at prehistoric era first turn, default buildings and default civics so I don't understand where extra beakers are coming from. Example and savegame are in attach.

2. There is python exception at Victory Conditions(F8)/Settings. Screenshot also in attach.

Can't say much about 2 but I've been suspecting something isn't quite working about establishing an option without setting up the option in the dll enums - it's supposed to be safe but I'm about to test something here that may prove its not working as intended without that step. Perhaps the python error is being thrown because of that somehow.

The first issue... looks to me like the first number is not taking into full account all research sources but only the amount being converted to research from commerce yield generation. You can also then have, say, a building, that is adding a direct source of research, such as perhaps from animal generated lore buildings. It strikes me as likely that those kinds of research sources aren't adding into the first number but are on the second. Without a further analysis of your game from a code perspective, it's tough to say for sure.

That was very first turn, no extra buildings and ~10 extra beakers. Could you please look into the save? Now I am at turn 383, about 100 beakers per turn and now and then number of beakers changes by +/-10. Maybe it's just me not understanding what's the cause of that change but then again maybe it's bug related to what I described earlier. There is no reason for these extra 10 beakers at first turn, right?
