Single Player bugs and crashes - After the 24th of February 2014

1) I was under the impression that the terrain damage function also gave units immunity to damage from terrains in their source city - so if a city had snow in its vicinity then all units built there would be immune to snow damage.

2) Other than that it should kill units.

But then how do you explain people living in that environment, from another culture ??

If a unit is built there then it has the training etc to survive in neighbouring terrains. If you move a unit there from a totally different city it wont have the same skills. Perhaps when we have the equipment promotions they can get those promotions but for now it is more realistic as it is.

Is it possible to disable buildable cultures and heroes and limit them to their own civs ? Old system where each civ had it's own fixed special units and buildings was much more sensible.

Not really - we are working towards getting rid of the civilizations all together. It is very slow going but it is one of the main targets of this mod.

In general, well put. However, we must also remember that if you're planning to foray into terrain damaging locales, you will need to promote your units that intend to do so with the proper terrain promotions. There is no terrain that a unit cannot learn how to ignore the damage from.

And yes, at some point the equipment and elemental damage systems will address this subject with much greater consideration.

So in my game im playing with a bunch of custom civs, so im keeping the custom at 7207 and updating the rest, but it seems updating the core dll causes my game to run suuuuuuper slow. You know that building problem i talked about a while back, and im wondering if anybody can help me with this problem because that means i cant get the updated buildings you guys posted.

I had to quit my game also because of the SLOWNEST of the new dll a while back, and the hesitation it now does, something is very very very bad about the dll????:mad::mad::mad:

EDIT: Seriously, there is some wrong with the dll, i am in Ancient Era and it is taking over 1 minute per turn, were as it usually would only take 10-15 seconds:mad::mad: Only a Large map, 7 civs, largest civ has only like 7-9 cities, i DONT have on Size Matters or the Combat Mod stuff..

Getting a reproducible freeze playing on SVN7278. Attached a savegame, hang occurs right after hitting the next turn.

Going into WB and killing all of the other civilization seems to allow the game to continue to the next turn, where a technology leader report shows up, so that *might* be related to the problem.

Yep... sounds like some schemas need updating for sure. Interesting that the load doesn't let me know that anymore, even on a debug run. Ah well... will go about updating those this evening along with:

I noticed DH had a similar issue. I'll see if I can fix this tonight.

Unfortunately, your save did not prove to hang on my assets which is at 7278. Either this means that the debug dll somehow gets past the issue OR the save wasn't made on 7278. I'd tend to think the latter because when I loaded the game it removed a number of references to Anthills and Earthworms and I did a recalc after being prompted to. Now... the recalc COULD have solved the issue and I did see some funny stuff going on with a city that was captured that might have explained some things if it had actually hung there but it didn't sooooo... I dunno. I'll be testing DH's game too so I may yet catch the bugger.

In the meantime, try a recalc when you load the game and it may clear up.

Either way, forcing a recalc DID seem to fix it :crazyeye:
Odd enough, because I did do a recalc after loading in the newer SVN a hundred or so turns earlier.
