Single Player bugs and crashes - After the 24th of February 2014

So right after I gained a vassal, I got a diplomacy modifier of +11 from every other Civ because "we are worried about our rivals being your vassals".

Two turns later that turned into +1674.

Also in the Victory Conditions screen, it's showing my rival as the Civ with the lowest score, not the highest.

Ok I looked into this and I really need to run your savegame to see how it's actually calculating out. Please share the save on this.

Is this on the most recent SVN version though? We had a problem in v34 stock with some negative overall power calculations and it looks like that would be the culprit potentially. If on the most recent SVN though it's very strange and needs a much deeper look to see where something more fundamental is going wrong here.

I am getting this error on loading a game. It is happening on my existing game and when I start a new game.

Whisperr wanted me to mention that this reported issue cleared up.

I have 2 major bugs just updated the SVN to 7579. The bug options are completely gone just the general tab and RevDCM tabs still exist. Also upon founding the first city it crashes to desktop immediately no error message.

I just ran this save without any errors as described. I'm thinking it would have to be your fileset has a problem somehow.

What do you recommend just completely redownloading a fresh SVN?

Did you by chance play another mod before you started this latest game. Maybe AND or RoM? Also did you clear the cache prior to this new games start?

As for the SVN, if you have it installed just Update the SVN and then use the Tortoise Export to send the New version to a folder of your choosing. Then just delete the Assets file and Source files in your Game path and then copy/paste the appropriate files from that exported folder. Doesn't take long and actually gives you a working library to work from if problems arise.

Yes.
scout droid doesnt get xp on build.

I looked at what I suspected the problem would be... doesn't seem to be the issue unless you're expecting them to get XP from the Great Military Instructors in the city since they aren't Combatants but rather Explorers.

If they aren't getting ANY XP I'd need a savegame with them set to build and instructions as to where so I can just hit the end turn and evaluate how it get's skipped for xp gains.

I have a request from the mod community:

I need a savegame where a Great Commander is about to gain enough xp to levelup between the time I end the turn and the beginning of the next. Por Favor.

If you catch a situation like this it would be very helpful.

About to level not waited to be promoted? If I pay attention, with Barb Gens I can likely get one tomorrow, I usually get my 1st commander within an hour or so of gameplay.

Updated to svn 7583.

I can not play existing games or start new ones.

When trying to start a new one, on loading I get:

"Assert failed
file CvGlobals.cpp
line 5239
svn 7515

Message info - Building_EarthWorm not found"
Current XML file is: xml\GameInfo\CIV4EspionageMissionInfo.xml

Updated to svn 7583.

Trying to start a new one on loading I get "Assert failed - line 5239 - svn 7513 - Building_EarthWorm not found" .

I'm not saying it's impossible that something happened between my commit last night and today that I haven't tested to find this problem BUT you might try two immediate reactive approaches:
1) Delete the cache
2) Hit the ignore button when that popup comes up and see if it causes any problems.

In the meantime I'm searching for the reference you gave... the message didn't happen to include the file it was looking at did it?

EDIT: Just looked into this...
Do you by chance have your MLF file(s) set to turn off the MrAzure file or the Gatherers file within that one? The file path to that reference leads to an active building (BUILDING_EARTHWORM) on my file set here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos\Assets\Modules\MrAzure\Insects\Gatherers\Gatherers_CIV4BuildingInfos.xml

I'll try to load and see if I get the same error. But if I do it MUST be a problem in the mlfs since that building info would be good from what I can see.

I did delete cache and select ignore - the game just freezes.

When I try to attach a minidump file - I get an invalid file message.

The last few lines of the xml.log were:

Not sure if that helps or not.

The file was: civ4Espionagemissioninfo.xml

Sorry that I missed that in my first post. But it was a long error message. :coffee:

EDIT: Downloaded SVN again (now revision 7585) I can start a new game. Will try loading existing games later. It is to late at night now.

Maybe the previous download had a glitch in it.

I was thinking it might've.

Oh...
@Alberts: please take a look at the above post and the fact that when the error popup came up it referred to the civ4Espionagemissioninfo.xml (which is the last loaded file apparently). Whenever I've seen these error messages come up on game load (which is a bit odd in and of itself isn't it?) it ALWAYS falsely points to the civ4Espionagemissioninfo.xml. His experience is one I've had a number of times and haven't yet brought it up.

It's not a BIG deal but it isn't terribly helpful to be looking in the wrong file either. I've gotten used to when it says that file to search the whole of the assets file for the erroneous reference instead. I can usually hunt down the problem that way.

But his is also not the first time I've seen a 'ghost' error like this where it may well not have actually been a problem in the file structure. Whisperr's cleaned up for an unknown reason despite me never being able to replicate the issue on my system and giving up with a shrug after a while.

I don't know if you have any insight on this or not - wouldn't stress it too much if a theory doesn't jump out at you. It's a fairly minor bug that may not even be quite wrong somehow.

On an odd sidenote... she ran a wingrep search to find the problematic reference on her assets file and for some reason wingrep didn't find one of the actual locations of that reference... I've NEVER seen wingrep fail to find a specified text like that! Very odd. But not a bug in our stuff I'd say.

Yes... not quite enough xp yet but over the course of the turn end units within its command radius will be attacked enough to give it the xp it should have to then levelup at the start of its next move.

Apparently, from the reports I've gotten on the problem with the Commander not registering readiness to promote properly, it's always something that clears up when the game is reloaded so there's no way to get a save that catches it in the act without (possibly) going about it like this.

It's showing the last loaded file in the error message because of the delayed resolution. At that point there is no way to display the correct file and i did not try to fix the message because i want to remove the delayed resolution.

I'am just months behind my plan and sadly thats not going to change soon.
