Skyrim - The Elder Scrolls V

Well, it's an Elder Scrolls game, it had BETTER be 100% mod friendly or their fans would probably torch their HQ.

Only one more hour till I can continue to not play Skyrim.

I'm leaving to get Skyrim at midnight in about 20 minutes. I'm dead tired.

I've been playing Skyrim on my ps3 for just under 24 hours now. I'm dead tired too. Release date was broken by someone, so I & maybe 15 other people were getting our copies at 3.20pm on the 10th, about 10 minutes after we got sms messages from EB saying it was available right now.

Game is awesome, btw. Though I also liked my unmodded, ps3 & 360 versions of Oblivion.

When I get it, I doubt a 12 will be able to handle it.

I'm getting an awful lot of CTD's from this game when I try to loot containers.

Got in a good hour or so tonight after putting the kid to bed, love it. Was unlocked at around 10PM pacific. Beautiful graphics, great audio, and happy my 6850 can handle it fairly well so far. Mohawk? Check. Beard? Check. Ugly ass sneaky Dark Elf? Check.

I want to see lots of screenshots! From all of you!

So far I'm diggin' it. Early days yet, but initial impressions are that gameplay wise, this is by FAR the best in the series so far. Lore and setting wise, it's not QUITE as good as Morrowind for me, nothing here is giving me the same feeling of being in an utterly alien world, but it is way, way better than Oblivion and is very good and well done. The first sidequest I did was awesome, if it maintains that quality all throughout it will be great. Leveling is too fast so far, I've only done the tutorial and one quest and I'm almost level 6, hopefully this slows down significantly later, otherwise I will need a mod for it. I'm not prepared to sing it's praises from the rooftops quite yet, because honestly, I like Oblivion when it first came out too, it took several hours of playing for it's deep seated flaws to reveal themselves, and there is a chance that could happen here too. But SO FAR I'm loving it and if no glaring problems arise, it will be in strong contention for my GOTY (only reason it wouldn't be the clear winner is because it had the bad fortune of being released in the same year as Deus Ex HR).

A friend of mine was at level 15 on day 1... but since the average level of players is apparantly 50, I imagine the pace will slow a bit later on.

Didn't buy it yet cause I don't meet the minimum specs. How buggy is it ?
Did anyone fall through a bridge yet ?

From what I gather it's a big step up, bug wise, from the typical Bethesda fare. I'll report myself when the mailman gets his backside here.

Has anyone tried to play it with below minimum specs ?
I'm asking because it says Skyrim needs a videocard with at least 512 MB RAM, and I still have a GF 8800 GTS with 320 MB.
It's still an Xbox 360 game and my PC was able to handle Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas on high/pretty close to max settings without any trouble, and I could run any non-PC exclusive game I tried on 1920*1080 with medium to high settings (but without AA).
VRAM is really my system's only weak point.

The recommended specs are a lie anyway. I'm easily around the recommended specs, but the game runs sluggishly and slow even at the lower settings. I would recommend getting the PC up to at least recommended specs. I seriously can't imagine how badly it will run on a PC under recommended specs...
Either that, or I'm the only one having that problem. It set my settings to medium by default, but that was the worst thing it could have done. Even turning with the mouse is still delayed.
