Snakes & Foxes 3: The ****oo's Nest (Game Thread)

Why did all of you vote thomas into the ring? It was obvious he was the last mark. Most of you didn't have much chance of catching up with paulus if he went in imeadiatly. For the wast majority of you killing off the rest of you first would have been better. Are people too used to NoTW thinking where a win is a win or what?

Thanks Niklas for a great game, even though it turned out quite different than I imagined and if i had to do it all over again i would ahve done it quite differently.

Sucks that i bought the wrong equipment against renata. Had I bought the correct one I would still have won despite her having a scan of me and being able to buy two correct equipments against my weaknesses. Oh well, can't win them all.

Congrats to Paulus. Bananalee did give you a run for your money towards the end but you kept ahead.

That was quite a show, wasn't it ?
I hope you liked it :D (I did, thanks LF).

Only one thing I have to say : awesome job Niklas :goodjob:

EDIT : Also, Renata, didn't I tell you we had to do something about the beastmaster and the lizardman ? ;)

It's finally over, and I can talk again.

I probably was well screwed against the Dragonslayer, and not even a scan could have saved me I think. Oh well.

Well written Lightfang, and thank you Niklas for hosting!

Oh yes, I wanted to ask you about that. Did you buy +elemental against me or what ?

Yeahhhh, guess who's not the lowest-scoring living player anymore! Sit on it D'Artagnan! :p

Nicely done, innocents, and Niklas/LightFang/Diamondeye as well; I regret not being able to take part in the whole thing. :goodjob:

I was surprised that the innocent cause didn't stab me in the back after the Mark was rooted out. Then again I think at this stage any plan might have gone wrong because you'd have to bet an awful lot on good odds, and that meant the battle would by no means be certain to go your way. That is, unless you've got Renata backing you with cash. ;)

Thank you Niklas and LightFang for a great game. :)

A firebow is an archer who casts fireballs. The odds that he started with elemental and ranged are rather large.

It has been pretty obvious for a while that there was at least one mark on your team. It obviously wasn't Jono and it wasn't chand himself. How he chose between you and D'art I do not know however.

What did you buy against me then, oyzar? I was very close to stealing Catharsis's (at that point Moosewarrior's) money prior to that match, in order to get (what would have been) one more equipment. (Though it would have been a complete guess as to what to buy.) I didn't because when I came home that afternoon to find out I had enough money collected that it would have been feasible to think of that, there was only half an hour or so before the deadline -- it took until about half an hour *after* the deadline for me to stop being ecstatic I'd managed to collect so much and start worrying again. If I'd have come home a little bit earlier I think I would have pulled the trigger on that theft after all! But luckily for me it worked out.

As for why we didn't get more cutthroat at the end, I can't speak for everyone else, but for me I was just happy with the way the game had gone, glad to have done quite well, and ready for it to be over. And I guess I'm just not that cut-throat when it comes right down to it. :)

Congratulations, Paulus!

And thank you very much to Niklas, LightFang and Diamondeye. Well done, all of you.

Woot! Paulus! YOu won!

I bought +stealth. Unlike you I had no intel on the opponent. I already had +power from my previous fight.

Unlike you I had no intel on the opponent.

For which I can only say THANK YOU BananaLee. :) He (well, and Sepuku and scherbchen, and the people who gave me cash) saved my butt.

I'm terribly sorry for all the delays I've incurred. If you look back, clearly most of them were mine, and very few of them were Niklas's. I apologize for that and I hope that when you look back, you only remember how nice the writing supposedly was. I suppose I've tarnished myself in Nicky's eyes.

Anyway, it was a blast writing. I love close battles more than anything, and you probably could see that. The closer the battle, the longer it tended to be, I think. That last fight was a victory by ten points, so no damage sustained whatsoever by Izzypoo. Boring for me to write. :P

WHY, FROZEN, WHY!? WHY DID YOU VOTE YOURSELF INTO COMBAT!? WHYYYYY!!!!???

... Whew. Sorry, had to get that out of my system. My plan was going so perfectly, before that! I don't have a whole lot to put into my AAR, but I'll answer any questions there.

I must say I wonder that too. The Snakes were by no means without a chance at that point, and in fact thomas would have made a fairly easy job of the Eidolon who would have otherwise been voted his opponent if Frozen hadn't jumped in. And the Runekeeper was one of the Brujah's worst possible opponents too. Yeah, that was not a good move. ;)

That was exactly my feeling at the end. I was so glad to have survived so far, and the game had run for so long, that I was Ok with it finishing 'early'.
Besides, Paulus had such a great advantage that I saw no point in trying to scheme my way up.
Finally I was very glad to have been chosen for the last fight. As it turned out, I had a fairly large advantage since 3 of thomas' attacks were against my resistances and my special ability was to be exceptionally strong against conjuration and absorption.

All in all, I think I lucked out most of the time and managed to go mostly unnoticed when I was unavailable, which suited me fine.

Again, this was a great game, Niklas did some first class GMing and I particularly enjoyed LightFang's battle reports.

Thank you all and see you soon in another game.
:)
