So why was CFC down (on and off) the last 3 days?

I used to have the problem of posts disappearing (which is more due to my internet connection than the forums). Now I automatically Cmd + A, Cmd + C before posting. Took a couple of days to get used to, but now it's pretty reflexive, and take about the same time as typing two extra capital letters. Sure isn't as good as everything actually working properly, but if you are having lots of trouble with long posts being kidnapped by the server, it's a decent safeguard.

Probably. It means "select all text" and "copy selection to clipboard".

Only just got back on after a long time. Site was up on http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/. - It just came back automatically. No reboot, no browser restart, etc. and it just started working again. What happened in the last couple of days ?

Its really getting annoying.

Now this is getting silly now. Twice today (In my POV), the servers became busy twice and almost close to each other.

Yup. And just as I was changing my avatar (transparent version, FYI) as well. :/

These things happen, I guess.

Four times in one day, Now it's moved into the ridiculous territory!

Edit: Now five times in one day! [pissed]

in the last hour ive had 5 or 6 "server is too busy" interrupts while trying to read and reply. what gives?

Just bussiness as usual, it seems :/.

Are the admins looking into this? Since it's been problematic for months now :(. (Well, a once a month occurrence, but still)

I'd think the most logical solution would just get a new server even if at a cost of reconfiguring the site to make it work.

there generally are things like announced server down time for maintenance or a page saying as much when you try to log in. but those are usually at non-peak times. all of my events were at 3pm EST. i cant imagine traffic being so high that an actual bottleneck occurred unless a server (or more than one) actually went down. it wasnt just during posting either.

Server backups times were changed the last time there were issues, so that server people would be in the office if anything went wrong. I don't know what time they were moved to, though, but it could be that. :dunno:

The last time there was an actual bottleneck was way back in CivV's release when 3,530 users were online at the same time causing an actual server is busy message. With around 1,006 users (at the time of this post) online, I suspect it's the server itself that mucking up or a DoS attack by bots.

Dont know if this helps, but this is what i got last time?

Fatal error: Unable to connect to memcache server in [path]/includes/class_datastore.php on line 224

Good thought, but sadly this just gives google hits where other people have the same problem and no solution .
