Jusos, Is it 0.3.5 or 0.3.4? Cause it looks like all those civs refused to collapse still. I mean. Abbasids, Seljuks, Ayyubids, Ghaznavids, Armenia (not Cilicia!) etc. are alive past 1300 looks like the 0.3.4 bug.

0.35 is the version I use, Makuria is actually stable. Ayyubids, Zengids and Seljuks collapsed soon after this. Notice the year 1253, which means that the mongol invasion aren't over yet.

Ghaznavids survived because I spanked the Ghorids for them. We also did some tech trading. Later the moron declared war on me so that was the end of that story.

Under what circumstances do the Byzantines become the "Roman Empire"? I've never seen that one before.

They don't. The Turk renamed Byzantines to Romans in his SoI Plus modmod, and that's where the screenshots come from.
