Paying close attention to the opposing argument is a crucial factor in debate. Do you disagree with this? And who are you - to say that it makes any difference whether I CALL them apes or monkeys or BACTERIA (and YOU ignored that change, of course)?
I don't believe in any religious idea regarding the common origin and descent of life. As for evolution, the evidence speaks volumes. And what do YOU believe EXACTLY in???
The ABILITY for humans to DENY G-d, is the ULTIMATE creation...
(Cause it's the ultimate concealment of G-dliness.)
I resign.

Now a serious question.
And with all these mounds of "secularism" - what is YOUR connection to G-d the Creator (whatever "name" you wanna call Him)???
Do you have ANY???
It denies the person the belief in the Creator
Once again, they interpret Genesis as a metaphor. Just like Jesus' parables, it's not whether they actually happened that matters, but the message. In this case, that God created everything and that humans are the pinnacle and stewards of creation.ICBM
I would wanna hear HOW they combine those two - and what PRACTICAL implications (if any) it has.
As for me (being Jewish), it's impossible to have both LITERAL Sabbath and LITERAL evolution/billions of years.
First is a direct result/source of "G-d finished His work on the Seventh day - thus we should rest on it".
Second isn't giving you any reasons to keep the seventh day.
Even more so, the KEEPING of Sabbath is a direct REMINDER that G-d created the world in SIX days, not ANY other amount of time.
If you switch to billion of years, you lack the ongoing connection between your WEEK (being the ONLY conventional time measure, bigger than a day; month and year are related to natural cycles of moon and sun) and G-d.
