SPORE SimEarth game

Curious, we can actually download and open creatures in the CC? I tried that with my page, but it didn't seem to support it.

I don't think you can do it with your own creatures. Other peoples are easy. Just copy the PNG into your creatures folder. They probably didn't want you downloading your own creatures so that you couldn't spam upload your own.

Ok well if you got a creature you want adjusted, post the link here and the head you want and I'll mod it.

Ummm... when we start a new game, can we make our own planet for our creature to evolve on, or does it start on a pre-made game planet?

I don't think you can create your own planet. I think the only things that are actually player-created are the creatures, buildings, and vehicles. Which is still a lot.

I don't think there is a planet designer either. The idea was that the asynchronous sharing would work such that any game that a player had on a particular planet might be copied into another player's universe, as that would make designing the universe easier on the computer system. How one player played their race and planet would influence how that planet and race appeared in other players's games. I think that probably will still hold, just because they are keeping the idea that the universe is large with many solar systems, each with potentially multiple planets.

quoting the wikipedia, which basically was what the 2006 video (the ~35 minute one on youtube ):
wikipedia said:
During Wright's Long Now Foundation seminar with Brian Eno in June 26, 2006, he mentioned that players would receive statistics of how their creatures would be faring in other players' games, referring to this as the alternate realities of the Spore metaverse. The game would report to the player on how other players interacted with them (for example, how many times other players destroyed their planet). The personalities of user-created species are dependent on how the user played them.[23]

Youtube has a great number of Spore videos of earlier designer notes, just that the problem is some stuff was cut out.

YOu should be able to terraform the planet enough so that its almost like you are creating a planet though.

Right, I forgot about that. However, you can only do that once you reach the space section, and by then your creature is all evolved up. I think you can abduct creatures and put them on your new planets, so if you wanted to monitor evolution I guess you could.

Yeah one of the UFO tricks is to drop monoliths which will instantly take a race from the creature phase to the tribe phase.

Personally, I don't think 4 billion planets is enough... :undecide:

For me it probably is maybe! I'm going to do a Species Journal chronicling my Corvid's realization that the planet they live on is not their own and they were transported there by a long lost race of giants from Earth. Basically it'll be like the story to Homeworld with Earth being Hiigara and the robots as the opposing race.

Having Earth in Spore would be a really awesome easter egg in the game! :D

(Not to mention a needle in a 4 billion planet haystack)

I can't wait to write a log of my species' adventures. BTW, I just got the 10 dollar full editor, so now I can build away! :D

You can check them all out on the Sporepedia- my username is Sphore. There are some older things I didn't upload, but a lot of my things are online.

Senora, actually. ;)

Thanks! He came to my hometown, where they held a game developers conference, he was listed to give the keynote. I had found his e-mail address, and in a bold move asked him if we could meet. To my delight he said yes. :)

I saw the conference on the news. Did you meet any other important. famous game developers? Like that guy that invented pong?

Bye the way: why wasn't Sid Meier there?
