I'm probably going to play through it first, then start out with my Blue Holcyan creature just to see how it handles flight. I'll have to see if I can find those drawings my little cousin and I were doing a few years back (of made up creatures). Too bad a creature can't have 17 legs - too complex (one of her drawings -- hey, she was in kindergarten at the time).

They use one or two sets of graspers (they're under the large wings) to hold on to iron handles in the spaceship while using the other set(s) to manipulate controls and levers.

Is anyone planning on getting the 80$ Galactic Edition of Spore? It seems to me its a little overpriced for only two documentaries and 2 books.

Not even going to waste my time getting the Galactic Edition as none of it is ingame. I'll be WAAAAAY too busy playing the actual game to look at the extras.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. It would be interesting to see the art book, but why pay for a book of Spore art when you can make your own ingame?

Good ethics point, but strictly all creation are the property of Maxis, so I don't wait up at night worrying about issues like this. Just as bad is making critters ripping off the work done by the Nintendo artists and others. :raises hand: "I'm guilty".
In the end only EA is going to be going to the bank on this.

Yes, but the point isn't one of legality, it's one of morality. This person does not deserve to have thei rname on a popular, featured creature that they stole from someone else.

Yes, I pre-ordered it. At the time, I didn't think of pre-ordering the standard game, but the price difference is tiny (15 dollars) between the game I had reserved at the local EB games and the galactic edition mentioned in the SPORE newsletter. The fact that I was going to be away from home and unable to get my reserved copy clinched my pre-order.

There is a short article about future expansions. The article really is just about the fact they plan to make expansions, the only idea they mention is the possibility of a flora editor in an expansion. Not really anything else.
