ST2 - Prussian Pangaea

Inherited turn:

I'm not sure if the Manufacturing Plants are meant to be spaceship part prebuilds, but let's build them and get to play with them anyway. :D Cities that aren't due to finish m-plants this turn I swap to nuclear plants instead - same production boost as an m-plant for fewer shields and less pollution.

1460 AD: Berlin completes nuke plant, reaching 153 shields/turn, although that's short of 160 for optimal spaceship building. Nuremburg completes manufacturing plant, reaching 170 shields (again, too bad it can't build a nuke plant.) After the spaceship parts, it starts building AEGIS Cruisers every turn just because it can. :D

1465 AD: France and Persia make peace. Persia has 350 gpt available; for Laser (Joanie has the tech) he only offers 349, so we sell for full market value.

1475 AD: Superconductor research somehow dropped an extra turn although Persia and France didn't get it yet? Pop growth in the fishing cities, maybe? Well, there's a reason to always max the science slider until the last turn. It was passed to me at 90% research due in 7 turns; I raised it to 100% still listed as due in 7 then, but we got it a turn earlier. :D

1480 AD: Anyways, we've got Superconductor now, and I decide to go for Ecology next because I know the AIs like Satellites (likely for the ICBMs.)

1485 AD: Arabia demands Incense; fighting against him would be good for amusement but there'd really be no point. :)

1500 AD: That's all folks. 3 turns from Ecology; 10 turns from winning if somebody researches Satellites for us or 17-18 if we have to do it ourselves. Hotrod, feel free to finish it off in either case.

Not bad for what turned out to be a 12CC game. :)

12CC game? You make it sound sparse. Yet 12 is like two short of OCN. I've won Deity space races with 1/2 OCN until the modern age or nearly so. Then there was RBE2...

'Grats.

Well, one thing we did get to see is the interplay between AI wars with the mods. The extra offensive point on infantry makes a fairly significant difference for AI-AI wars, since they like to use those units for attacking. That certainly helped Persia eliminate Russia. And the game could definitely do with a bit less stagnant industrial AI-AI war.

Well its been a couple days and I haven't been able to get to this game. I have had a few rough days at work and playing just hasn't been a priority. Sorry for the delay in ending the game.

Grimjack or anyone else care to finish this off? If no taker I will make a point to finish tomorrow night :)

I will see what I can do tonight. Should be pretty straightforward.

Space victory in 1575.

ST2 - 1500AD Endgame ?

Priority is getting spaceship built while trying very hard not to get entangled in warfare.

I actually assume T-Hawk has left the empire in good order :)

IBT: Berlin completes Life Support, Set it to Panzer. We are a long way from Synthetic Fibers.
Heidelberg Police Station->Nuke
Stuttgart Plant->Police Station

1505 Cool, I have never seen the looks of a Radar Artillery before :)
Hmm, France has Ecology. I guess it is 50/50 for her going either Robotics or Synthetic. Trade he Robotics, hoping she will research Synthetic, while we research Satellites.
Get Ecology, 2200 gold and her 59 gpt income. Could get Saltpeter also, but I suspect we have enough Cavalry for now :)

IBT: Ack, France and Persia starts their warfare again. Sigh.
Switch all cities completing production into Mass Transit.

1510 Move a stack of Artillery out of the way of the french line of march, just in case Joan decides to get frisky.

IBT: In spite of us finishing up the first of the Mass transits, we are struck by two pollutions.

1515 Deal with the pollution. No new techs.

IBT: Nada

1520 Deal with POllution

IBT: Now that all our Mass Transits are done, we are struck by three pollutions.

1525 Deal with pollution almost. Couldn't clean one on a hill.

IBT: Joy ofjoy, more pollution

1530 Massive movements back and forth of french forces. See one group move one way through us, and another move the other way.
Start prebuild for next part with Satellites in two.

IBT: France needs the help of 2CC england against Persia.

1535 Clean up the last of the pollution. Cannot see the front move at all, but suspect massive battles on the front.
Persia is in MOnarchy, and France is Commie. No wonder they do not research very well.

IBT: Satellites come in, and I set sights on Synthetic, the last tech needed.
We start producing a couple of ICBMs. This is probably one tech we do not want the AIs to have.

1540 More pollution, change prebuild to Thrusters, losing 250 shields.....

IBT: Thrusters done. Persia wants us to stop tarding with the english. I will not sign such a deal.
Hmm, neither Persia, nor France has even started their spaceship.

1545 Nothing
IBT Some pollution at least

1550 Nothing, and no techs.

1555 ZZZ

1560 We get our first ICBMs.
Sigh, France researched Superconductor... Weird. Why would a warring nation NOT research Synthetics ??
During all this time, a single city has changed hands.

1565 Start my prebuilds in a time honoured way. As ICBM casings.

1575 Tension is mounting as we prepare the last pieces of hardware. Just one more turn of peace and quiet now.

IBT: No surprises here. Synthetics come in, and we change our prebuilds, and all parts are completed.
After 40 hours, a space race victory is ours.
We have NO city in the top five... Although we are first in Approval, Production and GNP
We have a 15 year military service !!!
Final score is 4427.

Here is save from final turn. Remember to change prebuilds from Big Picture. ( Nuremberg and Berlin. )

Thanks for letting me participate. One learn a lot when one takes care to do ones turns to the best of ones ability, to avoid the mass :smoke: that one is afraid to get :)
Too bad we didn't get to check out so much ancient warfare. Perhaps a game with lots of small continents would have been better for this.

Thanks for finishing this one off. :) I think the space race tweaks worked out well - Offshore Platforms and Manufacturing Plants are neat to get into play. The only thing I didn't like was that beelining to the Internet is a choice that will be made every time; I think the wonder's a bit too powerful if one doesn't have to go off the space path to get it.

I've started another game, ST5, that will attempt to test out the militaristic rules in more depth - anyone from this game who wants to sign up is certainly welcome.

Good game, all, and thanks for playing!
