Notes: Conchobhar MacNess was King of Ulster, he lead a large army south into Meath where he secured the city of Dubv Lihnn for himself. Now the most dominant kingdom of Ireland is ready to finally unite the island, but it will take much more battle.

*******************************************************

Conchobhar MacNessa was Ard-Righ, King. He had United the few Tribes of Ulster and Dubv Lihnn. He lay his Caledonian-made bronze blade by his side and gazed down at his warriors. They were great fighters and had battled from Lough Neagh to Meath, their hair was spiked high with clay as was the customs of the Gaedhil. Their green wooden sheilds were brazen with the emblems of the Celtic gods of Eire. The countless spears bobbed up and down as the massive line marched past Conchobhar. He stood on an outsretched rock above a small ridge as his men streamed out of Bubv Lihnn. The settlment was captured yesturday and had become the High King's home. Conchobhar felt a tap on his shoulder, to his right was Iollan one of his commanders from Ulster. His spear was slung over his dirty, bare shoulder and his sheild tied to his back.

"Ard-Righ, King Cearul comes From Connaught, he chooses battle, your offer of peace was refused" Iollan spat at the name Caerul. Caerul was the despot who ruled Connaught, a province in the west of Ireland. It was Caerul who attacked Ulster years ago, that war was over, but this one has just begun to burn. Wether Caerul dies here or not didn't matter there were always more to fight in the west.

Conchobhar drew his blade. "We will meet them, this is only the begining. Ulster and meath aren't all that will be mine, my friend" He looked to the west, where Cearul's army would come from. "I will not lay under the soil until all of Eire is under the rule of Conchobhar MacNessa!" he spoke these last words louder to make sure his passing men heard him. "Caerul comes from the west, will you meet him, men of Ulster!?"

The response came in one voice "Aye! Hail MacNessa, King of Ireland!" In the far off hills he heard the sound of horn blasts. Conchobhar's foe was nigh.

"Be ready, men. I've heard the men from the west are good with a blade!"

With that, he hopped from the ridge and began to bark orders at his men. He could make out the dust of the enemy charging his lines.

"Tighten up the rank! Quinn, get yer archers back up on that ridge and hit the bastards before the get over that hill!" The archers obeyed and efficiently moved up on the ridge that MacNessa had just been standing on. The archers drew their arrows and poked the bronze heads to the sky.

"Let Fly!" shouted Quinn and the arrows flew up and blackened the sky. They zipped down like the hammer of the gods slicing into the Connaught lines. The westerners fell clutching their wounds as their comrades continued the charge.

"Ulster Go Bragh! Meet them!" shouted Conchobhar as he jumped ahead of the lines and bolted toward the enemy. His men followed him and they crashed into Cearul's warriors.

The first foe to meet Conchobhar thrust at him with his spear, MacNessa dodged it and stabbed the man in the side with his short blade. Bright blood poured from the man onto the emerald green grass. The men of Ulster fought bravely and continued the fight for hours. Eventually the Ulstermen and conscripts Meath won. Caerul was brought to Conchobhar, his wrists cut, his eyes gouged and his legs severed. The remains of his body were left, stuck on a pike in the centre of the battlefeild as a warning to the people of Meath and Ulster that the Unification was upon them and that they were to be a part of it, as the victors...

OOC:
yeah, so what, i used Conor MacNess as a character, even though by legend he was born on the day of christ's birth. but i needed a character and i wasn't going to use Fionn MacCool (yet) and non of that Tuatha De Danann stuff

Argh! So confusing! Communisto, why did you make the longest nation description that I have ever seen?
