Steve Jobs has died today, month or so after resigning from CEO of Apple. It's on Apple's site. RIP Steve

You've been warned.

Just heard this. I don't like macs, but I do love my Ipod. His innovation will be missed.

Even though I personally don't use any Apple products, this is still the death of a great visionary of the modern world. RIP, good man.

Oh wow, I'm no fan of Apples, but still, RIP

I saw a picture of him after he retired, It was obvious what was going to happen.

RIP

Not a huge Apple guy, but Steve Jobs was a technological visionary. Easily one of the most influential businessmen in decades and decades. Just look at Apple when he was there, when he left, and when he came back again. It was like two different companies. Apple products have been synonymous with their respective markets for a good 6-8 years now.

What timing in naming a successor! Can you imagine the chaos Apple would be in if he hadn't?

Would have been crazy. It's possible that Mr. Jobs saw this possibility in the near future, and named his successor to prepare for such an eventuality.

One of the most influential people of the last 30 years. I think that fact rather sums up the change the computer has brought to our lives. I'll pour a virtual 40 for ya on my iPod.

Possible? Almost certain, unless he died from a meteor hit and was healthy until then. I appreciate a person who can see beyond their own time and plan for the longevity of something grander, in this case Apple. Even if I dislike much of Apple.

I'm sure it was no coincidence that he left. This explains a lot.

Speaking of visionaries, I think Steve definitely qualifies. He did so much to elevate the world of computing and technology in general.

I think his greatest accomplishment was the Macintosh. While it had its faults, it revolutionized the world of personal computing by bringing the $35K Xerox Star to within the reach of the common man. And the computer world of was instantly transformed as a result.

The thing to keep in mind, even if a person is an apple hater is that the competition they provide and the bar they set, in turn, makes all competing products better.

My Android work phone is way better because of this, for example.

He truly revolutionized usability. His visionary influence will be missed.

Already, the iphone 4s is a letdown ...

Thanks Steve, for making computers cool, R.I.P.

Wow, this is tragic. Sad he did not spent his retirement to the fullest :(.
