Aye. Besides, it wouldn't be really fair for all that stuff we did to go for nothing just because the Egyptians failed to show up. ;)

Update Fourteen: 1851 A.D.

After nearly two decades of depression after depression and watching its neighbor soar to new economic feats, the Sioux Nation has finally entered a stage of rapid economic growth. So rapid, in fact, that it has indeed replaced the USSA as the fastest growing economy in North America though is still dwarfed by the massive USSA economy. The reason leading to this rapid growth is low unemployment and a rapidly increasing industrial base around the Spanish-named cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco. Resources in the east are finally being utilized, bringing the nation into modernity. Where five years ago fifty percent of Sioux lived without electricity, nearly electric bulbs light 80% of the country today.

All of Europe takes another step towards continental cooperation with the establishment of the ESA, the European Science Agency. This agency is funded by all participatory nations, with specific labs and research centers located in all five of the major European capitals: Berlin, London, Rome, Paris, and Madrid, with the actual headquarters within the Sky Bridge, a modern sky scraper in Copenhagen. The ESA was born from a German program in Berlin most known for the invention of the Giradi motor; a revolutionary motor being used in the French automaker Renault’s cars. The second great invention to come from the ESA is explained further below.

As a single entity, the EEC is also participating in the rejuvenation of the African Union’s economy by lowering tariffs and sending economy aid in the form of capital and poverty relief. The African Union had suffered a devastating break from the Egyptian economy two years ago, and is now only starting to recover.

Meanwhile in Britain, the industrial ports that used to produce the largest ships in the world have been more or less dormant for the last four years as the British navy lay in disrepair. But in the last year, the British have reopened these port facilities, and have actually launched four new battlecruisers as military spending is increased in the face of Egyptian threats. Millions of dollars are also spent on an intricate defense system circling the entire English coastline, designed to thwart any amphibious assault on the English homeland.

As France readies for yet another war with Egypt, she puts her ports into overhaul with the construction of a makeshift navy charged with protecting French coasts. But alas, the French ports are only able to pump out six battlecruisers and three dreadnaughts, three ships less then what the monarch ordered. Nonetheless, the fleet is a magnificent sight to many French, some who still remember a time when French fleets ruled the seas (+ confidence). The huge increase in production and government orders for war materials has created thousands of new jobs, boosting the economy in preparation of total war (+ economy).

Germany continues to rebound from its earlier recession four years ago with a boost in manufacturing capabilities. Unfortunately for the Germans, most new factories are actually owned by the growing French automaker Renault, which was experiencing amazing growth after the discovery and usage of the Giradi Engine in the Berlin Science Agency.

The ESA, combined with the national Danish research agencies, has made a second breakthrough. Through the engineering school at Berlin and other research firms in Copenhagen, the first submarine is built. While a shabby piece of metal twisted into a tube, the submarine marked the beginning of a whole new why to make war on the sea. It was soon refined and the newest product was sold to the Danish navy, with the first submarines entering service last year, equipped with torpedoes. Otherwise in Denmark, industry continues to build in the acquired Nordterre, though there have been demonstrations from the small University of Oslo where the students here call for the creation of a parliament and a constitution for Nordterre.

In the east, the Mongol insurrection that has lasted for nearly a decade is finally over. The Pacificans have granted the Mongols independence, and in the small city of Ulaan Bataar the Treaty of Ulaan Bataar has been signed. The next month saw first the elections of constitutional delegates, and then the formation of a constitution for the Republic of Mongolia.

Meanwhile, the Pacificans have broken all ties with the Chinese, withdrawing its ambassador and raising tariffs on Chinese goods (- economy China). The battlehardened Pacifican army, those still left after the formation of the Republic of Mongolia, have amassed at the border with China. Tensions between the two neighbors have been rising ever since the discovery of Chinese hands in the supplying of the Mongol rebels.

Inspired by the nationalist movements in the former Greek empire, the breakup of multi-national Brazil, and the separation of Mongolia from Pacifica, many ethnic minorities in one of the last major Multi-ethnic nations, Sumer, make a bid for recognition. Most noteable are the Kazakhs in the east, who wish for their own autonomous nation. Other distinguished minorities include the Arabs in the south, the Persians, Georgians, and even a few radical Jews in Israel. Nothing much has come from this, but in a world growing away from multi-ethnic nations, no one is sure how much longer the Sumerians will be able to hold onto the empire.

A project that has taken six years to complete, the Pan-Russian Railway, is finally complete in Russia. The twin tracks connect the Teutons of Warsaw with the Mongols of Magadan. Such an engineering marvel has the rest of the world in awe of Russian industrialism and dertimination. The rail links the largest nation in the world, facilitates internal development, and just generally makes lives easier for those living within the Russian Republic. Not to mention the very important defense implications (+ 2 economy).

The Ash-Shaqaya Petroleum Company (ASPC) has been formed by a joint cooperation between Sumer and Arab government-owned oil agencies. This new company has drowned out all its leading private competitors, and has taken the first step to competing internationally when demand in France and Germany for the burgeoning automobile industry has been met mostly with Arab-Sumer oil.

The last of Free Mexico surrenders as the Ozeanians decide to pull out and abandon the cause. Mexico is finally united under one flag, the communist hammer and sickle, and plans have already been made to make reunification as smooth as possible. A mass exodus, though, of free Mexicans takes place in the border provinces in the north as the people rush to the last free state on the continent – the Sioux nation. The capital of Mexico has once again been moved to Mexico City, and celebrations across the nation mark the USSM’s first National Day (+ economy).

Meanwhile, the USSA begins a massive operation in Panama – without Panamanian consent. Three amphibious landings, totally twenty five thousand American troops storming the beaches around the canal, follow a small bombardment. The Panamanians, surprised and not knowing what to make of this, fight alongside their Ozeanian counterparts. Massive casualties at the beaches give way to an American victory, and the Americans continue to unite the beaches into a coordinated front. Strategic jungle and mountain defensive positions have held the Americans at the beach and coastal villages.

(Ozeania: -5,000 men; Panama: -10,000 men; USSA: -15,000 men)

As the Americans fight in Panama, the Ozeanians continue their operations in Peru, devoting even more time and energy to the cause here. The Peruvians are routes in several locations, with minimal casualties, and are pushed into the interior of the nation. Resistance within Ozeanian-held territories is minimal as the Ozeanians field nearly 150,000 men in this country.

(Ozeania: -20,000 men; Peru: -45,000 men)

As the American navy steams northwards from circling Tierra del Fuego, the Ozeanians prepare for a navy encounter that will probably decide the fate of Ozeanian operations in South America. The American fleet consists of 8 advanced battlecruisers and 4 dreadnaughts, while the Ozeanians are able to muster only 9 battlecruisers and 2 dreadnaughts, accompanied by nearly 40 other minor ships. The Battle of the Galapagos, therefore, is a battle that will be remembered in history textbooks for all time. The Americans, sure of their technological superiority, underestimated the determination of the Ozeanians to retain control of the Pacific Ocean – something that the Ozeanians have had for generations. As the American battlecruisers came within range, they opened up on what they thought was the entire Ozeanian fleet. In fact, it was only four battlecruisers; the rest of the navy was bringing up the rear of the American fleet, and was able to encircle the American line. But all was not lost for the Americans yet. The powerful American dreadnaughts were able to punch a hole through the Ozeanian line, and escape, with many ships, back to the open seas. Most of the fleet, though, is in dire need of repair, and so in dire need of either the Panama canal (so to return to USSA ports), a friendly port, or return around the cape of South America.

(Ozeania: - 20 ships, -3 Battlecruisers; USSA: -5 Battlecruisers)

Now besides war, the USSA has involved itself into the economic realm of South America where Europeans have been competing for decades for economic superiority. The USSA is able gain a stronghold in Pan-Columbia, with goods that are cheaper then the French-dominated products. Spanish holdings in the south are unaffected.

The Secretary of State in Egypt has ordered the whole military to be mobilized, including conscripting 700,000 troops, plus enlarging the regular troops by 65,000 men. Egyptian production is also put to use in producing a new fleet, one that is able to compete with the Europeans slightly. Still, the Egyptian war machine is turning once again, but will it last in the upcoming war? Can it really face the onslaught of the whole of Western Europe without its African allies and Sinhala?

Nice UPdate

to: Panama
From: USSA
The attack was aimed at removing the Ozeanians from the canal as we were at war with them and them controlling access to the gulf was a threat to us. We will withdraw, as long as the Ozeanians remove themselves.

To USSA
From Panama

Your blatant attack without even a notice has given us the impression that you wish to dominate the whole of North America tyrannically with the American military and economy. The Panamanians, for one, will not stand by as you bully others around. We call for your withdrawal from soveriegn Panamanian territory. We will ask the Ozeanians to stay, if only for protection as we see the USSA as a much more blatant threat. The Ozeanians have only been kind in their affairs with Panama, and as of now, are much more of a friend the the USSA is.

btw, I updated the production capabilites on the first page. recruitment not updated yet, but use those numbers for your orders, it will be udpated next turn.

Also, I realized a lot of typos in the udpate. I will try and skim the update over before i post it next time.

Update on Wednesday as usual.

Nice update, though I really do hope Sheep comes back soon... Btw, IMHO you forgot to do anything in South America, apart from the Ozeanian operations.
