This unit was requested some time ago by GarretSidzaka. It would be useful in modern (or near future) mods and scenarios. Or just for replacing civ4 vanilla mechanized infantry

The Stryker is a family of eight-wheeled all wheel drive (AWD) armored combat vehicles (ACVs) produced by General Dynamics Combat Systems, in current use by the US Army. It is the first new military vehicle to enter service in the US military since the M2 Bradley in the 1980s. The Stryker is based on the Canadian LAV III light-armored vehicle, which in turn is based on the Swiss Mowag Piranha. (Wikipedia)

For all who wants quality rather than performance - theres also 512x512 texture - just delete Stryker.dds and rename Stryker512.dds to Stryker.dds. For all who thinks that 256x256 is ok - you may delete Stryker512.dds

This is really impressive! However, might the polycount be too high? I hope not because it looks great as is, but it seems like since you'll probably have more of them on the map at one time than say some of the planes and ships, it might slow things down a bit. Again, if it isn't an issue, then all the better :)

Wow! Nice! Definitely going to try to use this one!

The Stryker is based on the Canadian LAV III
Well now, all we need is a IED new unit for those nations that can't afford these. :(

@ all
Thank you :)

Lol - Good idea (Basing on Paper/Stone/Scissors we need also some Engineers that will destroy IED)

I think it's a little bit above than optimal for game (wich for me is 600-1000 polygons for machines units - depending on complexity). It was hard to drop below 1000 mostly because this unit has 8 wheels. But i don't think it's an issue - it shouldn't affect gameplay much (i recommend use in this case default 256x256 texture - the units on screenshots has it - so it looks good).

Cham: I was being a little sarcastic, seeing as I live in Canada, and we have lost many of out good guys in these LAV's to IED's.

Then I guess we might need some snipers or something for them..
