SW3 - we are NINJA

Alrighty. Took me awhile, but I'm glad I played this set. Had some choices to make, and I think you'll all be pleased with the outcome. [pimp]

IBT

Lost stack of workers + sword to mongol sword...
Russia and Mongol signed peace treaty

T1
Declared on Cathy.
Got Korea to jump in by giving them Feudal

IBT
Crazy swords killed an MDI near Nara...

T3
Big turn.
Took:
Khabarovsk
Rostov
Vladivostok
St. Petersburg.

NO LOSSES!!!

Our core needs more development.
Changed Sapporo to worker instead (wasting 2 shields)

IBT

Mongol hordes are coming...

T4
Attacking Moscow...
Lost AKIRA...
But then, KILLED THE KING! (and turned elite in the process :) )
Yay!

Hm... Didn't know that killing the king(well, queen) will kill all towns. Have to resettle FAST.

T5
Some standard management.
Starting to move guys towards where mongols are attacking

T6
...

T7
Founded Toyama

Okay. Here's the hardcore part. I didn't move my guys towards the town that the Mongols are going for, and at the end of turn, I had 2 units in Ise, with 4 bad guys (2 sword, an archer, and a warrior) going to attack IBT. I have 4 units 1 turn away from reaching Ise (if only the road got built a turn sooner.

I used an AC to attack a sword, but retreated after dealing... 0 damage. Used a sword to hit another sword, and killed it, taking 1 hp.

IBT
Mongols offer peace, wants currency. I check the thread to see what I'm supposed to do (really don't want to lose town... Even thought of abandoning the city), but have no idea whether we're supposed to kill Mongols or not (did we start this? We have no boss for them. No record of how this war got started). Couldn't find an answer... Bit the bullet, and prayed... :undecide:

Siege of Ise

A sword came charging in, and killed our sword. Then the archer came at us, and the 1 hp AC took it down, getting elite. The warrior came, and the AC fended it off. That's it, right? No! I forgot they had a redlined horse. They pulled this one in, too. Our AC took this one out, too! HOLY CRAP! :ar15: :salute: :rockon: Going to rename him to something... Aries (going Roman instead of Greek here).

Cathy wants peace. Fat chance, especially after that crazy battle..

T8
Okay. You mongolians are gonna pay now. :ar15: Took an AC at the Sword. Killed it, taking 3hp dmg. Took all the other units nearby, and fortified the crap out of Ise: 3 AC, 2 MDI. Try taking this, Gengis.

Founded Fukishima

T9
Took 2 MDI from Ise to kill archer and sword on hill... They got their revenge. Lost both. Took some AC to finsh them off.

IBT
Indians built Hanging Gardens

T10 - 310
Nothing exciting.

Next actions:
Wait till MA with Korea is over before killing Russia off.

We may want to continue gunning for Mongols, then wrap back into Korea afterwards.

Sounds like it played out quite well. Nice job!

A little confused in that you referred to killing the king in Moscow, and all of the towns disappeared, but a few turns later, Cathy wants peace. After Mao did the same, re-spin must definitely be on. It'll be hard to win that way...

Go take Tver to see if there is a Cathy in there. That'll tell us if once the AI re-spawn if they start with another king too.

lovely set enigma,
maybe they do get rehatched, but since we need one to kill every age, i guess it works out ok. so we can keep pounding them into the dirt an d aim for a territory win., just keep a few pumps open.

Admiral Kutzov said:
If respawn is on, the AI only respawns once? Or do they respawn indefinitely?

I believe only once, although I've never actually played with respawn on.

My turns were pretty uneventful, except for...*drumroll* a leader! :D
Other than that, just small skirmishes and destuction of one enemy city (you'll have to read to find out who :p ).

Pre-turn – Well, I’m confused that Russia still has cities, but whatever…change an entertainer in Vladivostok to a Scientist (so we can still get research done). And I see we are researching Invention…I thought we wanted Chivalry?

IBT - …Fukushima is ransacked by barbs…we lose 42 gold…and our oh so intelligent military advisor “advises” us to increase our military—even though we are already the strongest in the world.

320 (1) – Shimonoseki worker->worker. Hakodate worker->MDI. The AC by Fukushima kills a barb and becomes Elite…

Battle for Tver’: First Elite AC attacks, and is hit by an archer, then loses another 2 hp. Second AC attacks, loses no hp. I just moved the stack of 2 ACs and 2 Swords there, so only the ACs could attack.

Trade Republic to China for Monarchy and 53 gold, since he’s the only one without it, changing to an Anarchy would hurt him, and he’s probably better off as a Monarchy.

Change some builds from MDIs to Settlers because we have a large enough military (never thought I’d say that, actually).

IBT – Indians complete ToA…and the Mongols move a stack of a spear and 2 swords through Korea, and a lone spear on the east side of Korea.

330 (2) – Osaka settler->worker. Tokyo worker->harbor.

Second Battle for Tver’: Attack with Elite Sword, archer fires but misses, and we lose 1 hp. Attack with vet Sword, we lose 1 hp. Just an archer left now. Attack with vet AC…and we lose 2 hp—and now a worker’s showing!?! I believe they have a leader under there, and since we don’t want to break the deal with Korea, I’ll leave it alone.

Found Bizen and find a barb camp (get it? …nevermind…) ->spear. Destroy the barb camp by Fukushima and get 25 gold.

IBT – Mongols are building the Great Wall.

340 (3) – Kyoto settler->settler. Izumo settler->library. Sapporo worker->library (will probably change).
Kill the spear in the Mongol min-SoD. Destroy the camp by Bizen and get 25 gold.

Settle Echizen, dispersing a barb camp (still have barbs, though) getting another 25 gold ->worker. Destroy ANOTHER camp East of Toyama for another 25 gold.

IBT – Group of 3 swords and an archer move into view.

350 (4) – Rostov worker->worker. Nara settler->worker. Matsuyama worker->treb.

Kill one sword in the stack, and we get a leader…you know, sometimes, I really love the RNG. Start moving him back towards a city, but it will probably be the next person’s turn when he gets there. I’m thinking AC army? Or a MDI army. Sadly our Elite archer doesn’t do as good, and dies without doing a scratch. The vet AC wins, losing 2 hp, but promoting.

Found Omi ->library. Rush a galley in Khabarovsk. Kill the 2 swords in Korean territory.

IBT – Archer attacks our AC, we lose 1 hp. Sword attacks our Elite* sword, we win, but are redlined. Another sword appears from the fog.

360 (5) – Khabarovsk galley->galley. Kill more Mongol units.

IBT - One of our Elite swords is attacked, and killed. :cry:

370 (6) – Kyoto settler->settler. Osaka worker->worker. Toyama worker->worker. Yokohama worker->galley.

IBT – China and Korea sign a MA against Russia. A barb comes out of nowhere, and kills a settler…I’ve GOT to start sending them with escorts…

380 (7) – Nagoya MDI->market. Kill a barb camp North of Tokyo. Kill some more Mongols, but the Elite* dies. I guess we’ll make an AC army. Kill another barb camp in the south of the continent, by the Russian cities. Speaking of which:

Attack on Kazan’: 4/5 AC attacks, retreats doing no damage. 4/5 Sword attacks, wins losing 1 hp, and we destroy Kazan’, and get 2 gold.

IBT – Both a sword and archer attack one of our swords, and we kill both, losing 1 hp. But another sword appears out of the fog. Only one, though? Maybe Temujin is finally losing steam.

390 (8) – Tokyo harbor->MDI. Fukushima worker->worker. Found Echigo ->worker. Build the army.

IBT – We lose another sword to the Mongols.

400 (9) – Rostov worker->library. Nara worker->galley. Not much else, except I accidentally move the galley into the path of a Mongol galley.

IBT – Sword attacks our AC, and we are left with 2 hp. The Mongol galley moves around us, and attacks the barb galley that was following us.

410 (10) – Kyoto settler->MDI. Osaka worker->library. Destroy a camp NW of Kyoto.

Found Kozuke ->galley (can be changed).

I decide to risk attacking the Mongol galley, and we win, losing just 1 hp.

It appears the Mongols are in Anarchy, so now is the time to attack!

For the next person:

There are some AC and MDI near the Army (who is heading north to where the Mongols keep appearing). You can decide which type of army to make. Do we want power or 3 movement?

There are 2 settlers in the area north of Kyoto (although one had to retreat from the barb). There is another in Kyoto, which you can decide where to move it. There are another 2 next to Shimonoseki, being guarded by the redlined Sword. Be careful, since there are quite a few barbs in that area.

The Alliance with Korea ends in 3 turns, and then you can finish off Russia, with the small stack of units by their last city, Tver’.

Whether we want to continue attacking the Mongols and maybe capture a few cities is up to the rest of the team. Temujin has no gold and won’t offer any cities, and since we he doesn’t have much of a large force, I say we continue and maybe capture Mandalgovi.

In the picture, the unfilled army and Mandalgovi are both circled.

very well written log :goodjob:

the unfilled army and Mandalgovi are both circled.
I can't find them can you help :lol:

A barb comes out of nowhere, and kills a settler…I’ve GOT to start sending them with escorts…

I accidentally move the galley into the path of a Mongol galley
I may need to consider you for an idiot card...

RaL is up IIRC.

I guess I should've mentioned that there's a barb camp by Fukushima, and the AC that's floating there should've gone to kill it, instead of getting ransacked by barbs. Did we get the city back? I see it in the mini map...

We may want to settle the large amount of land in the southern part of the continent. Or is the pretty much end-game anyway, and we shouldn't care?

I'm going to be headed out to Chi-town in RL Monday through Thursday of next week so I'll be MIA. I'll try to stop in and give comments where I can. So skip me until I check back in later next week

I just came up in SGoTM6, so please skip.

Hey, at least I killed the Mongol galley... :blush:

Well, I think the AC had already been moved, so I couldn't do anything. And it was a barb--they can't captue cities. Just take gold or destroy all shields accumulated for the city's current project. All we lost was 42 gold, so no harm done, really.

In my idiot opinion, we need to focus on moving the army north to take out the Mongols. We also need to send escorted settlers to SE to fill. Decide on a settler factory and a worker factory and keep them on exclusively settlers and workers. FP finished. Any workers not in the core should be roading to new lands to get the settlers there faster.

Anyway, the alliance with Wang ended and Kill Cathy, Volume 2 is over. She's gone for good, answering the great respawn question. We just need to kill them twice.

Teamed up with Mao vs. Wang. Took Nampo', then seoul. Wang relocated Ulsan to the SE. Popped an MGL as Wang attempted to move out a settler pair. Forces closing in to the SE. Empty army in Izumi. Korean lands to north need resettlement. I planted a colony on the grapes. Keep it guarded. We now have roads to Mongol-land (is that next to Fantasy Land or Tomorrow Land?) The forces are gathering in the north to attack the mongol homeland.

I built: Sado, Edo, Kagoshima, Izumi, New Kyoto, New Osaka, and Neo Tokyo.

Kulture is a :nono: except in the capital and FP city. Ok to build markets if needed, but I very strong suggest we keep building the military. Maybe send out another boat to find Gandhi.

I went a little long (13) to get stuff set for the next person.

Great turns, AK! Don't worry about the 13 turns, since we were a turn ahead anyway (I played up to 410), so now we are 4 turns ahead.

I think we should rush the galley in Khabarovsk, and send it on a suicide mission East from where that Swordsman is fortified (north of the Gems, south of the 2 whales). Unless Gandhi has a really tiny island, we'll most likely meet him in a few turns.

Do we want a MDI army or another AC army? An AC army would let it get to the Mongol-land quicker, but a 4+ attacker would be helpful, too. I vote for a MDI army (there's an MDI 2 spaces away from the army, so we can start moving it quicker, too).

Go for MDI army. There a road almost all the way to the mongols. Stay out of the jungle but watch for infiltators.
