Here's the one for my family

and here's the one for the realm of which I am Prince!

The 4 quarters represent the different family estates which combined to form the town. The spinning Jenny represents the fact that the true inventor of the spinning Jenny (one of the catalysts for the industrial revolution) was born in Leigh
If you are Prince, why do you have the helm of an esquire?

What connection do you have to the East Karelien region? The name sounds like something out of Star Wars :hmm:

Cool additions, I really like the input up till now. Hope to see some more interesting additions.

This is the great seal of Minnesota ? What the regular seal looks like ?

Here are several symbols related to the different levels of my location.

This is the historical seal of Paris. It's a river boat illustrating Paris' motto : "Fluctuat nec mergitur" (fluctuates but does not sink). We can see on top the lilly flower which doesn't represent monarchy in here but actually the colours of "Ile-de-France" (Paris historical region).

Now this is the current logo used by Paris city hall. It's a modernized version of the traditional seal :

Now let's take a quick look on Ile-de-France, this is my region. Ile-de-France is actually the wealthiest region in Europe. It's peopled by 11.5 million people which lives at 95% in Paris area. I will start with the historical flag of Ile-de-France which unfortunately recalls the times of monarchy :

region_idf3.jpg

Here's the former logo from Ile-de-France administrative region. I liked it because of its structure. The bud of the flower is red, symbolizing Paris. There are 3 white petals symbolizing the 3 other departments of the city core (I live in one of them). And finally there are 4 larger petals symbolizing the 4 departments from the wider crown (mostly far suburbs).

And that's the new logo they've made. :shakehead

Now about France, this is the national flag. It represents the king (the white colour) enjailed in the walls of Paris (the red and blue colours). Paris represents the people in here. Indeed, French kings decided to move to Versailles because they were scared of the riots people from Paris could cause. It's widely a revolutionary symbol. That's why I'm very annoyed each time I see someone picturizing a French king with that flag behind him.

This is the French Republic seal. For instance, we can see it on passports :

And of course, here is Marianne. At the opposite of what most people believe, even some in France, Marianne doesn't represent France, she represents Freedom. Here's how Delacroix pictured her in his famous painting "Freedom guiding the people" :

marianne.jpg

And finally, the pictue wouldn't be complete without the famous (and ridiculous) Gallic rooster :

And of course, I will end my description with the most important of all symbols in my heart : :)

I always noticed how the two guys and the boy are leering at Marianne.

Vive la France, eh?

It's funny how the flag of my country is derived from the tale of a gory execution!
At least it keeps the vampires at bay. Or if you want, think of it as a salute to Euclidean geometry.

It's neighboring area to Finland, i've visited it for a few times mostly some whole weeks in the summer. The people there originally speak Vepsä Karelian, and the original people there (As in not Russian) are Finno/Ugric peoples just like Finns and Estonians are.

And the name sounds star wars to you, because you've never happend to look at the european map at that very spot. ;)

Just want to come back to this one again:

There is a site, which I've now lost the links to, which ties in all the above (they didn't get their sights on Anoka yet) to the world's great Masonic conspiracy theories. They are even claiming that this logo:

has consistently been based around the eye of the Illuminati, proving their Masonic connections.

I'm a big fan of both the flag and the coat of arms, but please stop putting together on your hockey jerseys: they don't look anything like what a World Champion should wear. :p

I love conspiracy theories. But the "all seeing eye" doesn't get off the ground. Even if one could see everything it doesn't necessarily follow that you would be able to understand it. Much in the same way as I can see a paper on string theory but would be none the wiser after reading it.
