SysNES 1: A Murky Pool of Light

From The Vazan CyberDemarchy
To The Republic of Ik

For the same token, we could ask you to stay away from Minkar, seeing as it is Vazan and Kation sovereign space. Nowhere does it say that Arrakis is Ik sovereign space. Once you actually colonise all of Arrakis, then you may say that it is Ik space, but until then you cannot make such a claim.

OOC: You did sign a treaty making Minkar Ik "sovereign space", you know, something that Kennyboy never agreed upon for Arrakis.

Yeah, just making sure. Do laser arrays have icons, btw? Also, in the tech charts, it says that Titanium Armor requires Materials 2, but in the ship designer Materials 1 seems to work.

What Laser Arrays? They've been removed from the tech tree - now a defensive station is just a ship design without drive components and thus appear under players icon lists

Ah yes, materials 2 is correct, I seem to have erred when transposing stuff to the new calculator. Consider your starting stats change appropriately.

The fact is that, while it is true Ken and I haven't talked about Arrakis, there is no treaty nor conversation that actually places Arrakis as sole possession of the Ik. Thus, Ken has no actual claim to Arrakis, and this means I could settle in any planet there.

OOC: Hopefully I can get some more concrete starting info from you, dis. In the meantime...

In our extreme generosity and benevolence, owing to your ignorance as a barbaric planetbound race, we will ALLOW you to remove your heathen exploitation fleet from the orbit of the virgin world of Zoë. Well, that is to say, Zoë WAS a virgin, before we got there. Now she is very much deflowered. But given the fact that you Icks are...virgins to virgin worlds, we will not allow someone as virginal as yourselves sleep with an experienced woman...planet. Thing. You understand our point. It would just be...c'est quoi le mot juste...icky.

This is, as the old commercial radio waves say, "A limited time offer," and if you refuse, we will be forced to do horrible, horrible things to you. Trust us, they are horrible. We have already started a think-tank to discuss various horrible things to do.

So, IN CONCLUSION, remove yourselves from our property, you trespassing sh*t-brown dogs.

International Law is what you make it after all (aside from the "no relativistic weapons" thing).

The law that entropy always increases holds, I think, the supreme position among the laws of Nature. If someone points out to you that your pet theory of the universe is in disagreement with Maxwell's equations — then so much the worse for Maxwell's equations. If it is found to be contradicted by observation — well, these experimentalists do bungle things sometimes. But if your theory is found to be against the second law of thermodynamics I can give you no hope; there is nothing for it but to collapse in deepest humiliation.
-Sir Arthur Stanley Eddington

And as you should know Maxwell resulted in Einstein ;)

OOC: So you admit you were wrong about Minkar and that your usage of the Minkar situation is flawed? :p

The fact is Milarqui, I discovered the Arrakis system over 10 years ago. I currently have a base on it, and a number of spacecrafts. I am willing to give up my spot on Minkar IIIa (I'd still like atleast a base on the icy moon thing for trade purposes). Either way, if you attempt to enter Arrakis with anything larger than the probe you have right now I will meet you with the all the force I posses, which is currently greater than what you posses.

You have been warned.

Peace of Thoth said:
1) Hostilities between the Gardeners and the Soulon League will cease, effective 1/1/5971 UC.
1a) Both parties agree to end recruitment of additional ground troops and the construction of warships throughout the system of Kaus.
1b) Both parties agree to not deploy additional troops or warships to Kaus III.
1c) The Gardeners will withdraw all offensive warships, those which have the ability to inflict damage of any type, from Kaus III, with the exception of a single Lamassu cruiser to perform interdiction and orbital reconnaissance.
2) A bilateral Joint Investigative Committee will be created to inspect and enforce the terms of the peace.
2a) The Committee will consist of four Gardener representatives and four Soulon representatives, and will reach decisions by majority vote.
2b) They will possess the right to investigate all habitats and outposts on Kaus III, all ships travelling to or from the planet, full access to orbital thermal imaging to locate the positions of military or civilian assets, and right to override orders on their own joint authority with that of a Soulon Colonel or a Gardener Regiment Leader.
2c) It will be empowered to appoint four-man teams of investigators capable of conducting inspections. Two inspectors from the Gardeners, two from the Soulon League.
3) The Soulon League will disclose the full data of the Soulon-Gardener probe to the Gardeners, which includes the star maps of Izar, Azmiech, and Rotnev. It also includes maps received by the Soulon League as a result of trades with other polities.
4) As a sign of faith, until otherwise noted, the Soulon League and the Gardeners will publicly disclose their respective budgets (spending) at the beginning of each year. (Through Dis)
5) A memorial to the tragedy of the events which have occurred on Kaus III will be constructed in the form of space habitat in orbit around the planet during the year 5971, with funding paid for evenly by the Gardeners and the Soulon League, 20e each, to it's building and additional 10e each for a culture center on the new habitat to remember and honor Kaus III.
6) A joint archeological expedition between the Soulon League and the Gardeners will be formed to explore and seek to understand the ruins found on Kaus VI during the year 5971. Any benefits which might be rendered from the ruins will be split evenly amongst both parties, and in the event that it cannot divided evenly, an agreement will be reached afterwards.
7) In one year's time, as a further show of faith for peace, a joint occupation of Kaus III will begin, and the third region of Kaus III will be relinquished to the Gardeners. Both factions will then be restricted to only 2 divisions on Kaus III; any over the limit would have to be withdrawn, 1 division each over each parties respective habitats.

OOC: So you admit you were wrong about Minkar and that your usage of the Minkar situation is flawed? :p

OOC: And in any case, the Euros got robbed on Minkar by signing the treaty. Kentharu didn't even give a damn what was going on on Minkar until Dis reminded him to stake his own claim. He was (still is, honestly) too focused on Arrakis.

Also, has there ever been a bowderlization of coolness more blatant and terrible than SPACE PIRATES -> Frenchfag.got society of fag.gots?
