    President Cedi Badu

    Fellow citiziens of Ghana.
The past years have been full of hardship and sacrifices.
While America and China went for each other, we sufferd, our small, prospering economy was nearly crushed as the super pwers gambeld with the WOrld Economy.
    Still, we made it through.
The end of the petroleum era hit us hard, as our oil fields ran dry we sufferd.
Drought and storms destroyed our harvest and we sufferd.
And still we made it through.
Our small nation of GHana and all our friends around us, sufferd, but did we do anything to deserve this suffering ?
No, we didn't poison the planet and destroyed so much beauty and still we had to suffer and we still suffer.
But my dear citiziens, let me tell you, we will make it through this, too.
No longer shall our children starve, so that the West can eat chocolate, no longer will our mines be used by foreigners while our workers get nothing.
Today our proud nation stands here, with everything, every farm, factory and mine in our hands.
From today on I promise you that we will enter a new era for Ghana and all of Africa.
An era of prosperity and freedom and nobody, no greedy imperialists or warmongers from far away will take it away from us.
This, people of Ghana, is the promise I make to you !

We currently have other priorities, and furthermore tbe government of UK does not have the authority to just go to other nations and develop their infrastructure for them.

Instead, we would like to suggest you to hire one of our many corporations to do so. UK always welcome new business opportunities.

Yes, yellow is Mexican-occupied. Red is "Free Market/American Dream" USA. Blue is "Democracy/Socialist" USA.

In regards to the enclaves, the Mexican government and military have focused its security and rebuilding efforts on areas that have held plebiscites to join with Mexico. Those communities are not always contiguous.

How ubiquitous is laser weaponry right now? Is it available only for the world powers or it's spread out in most countries?

Its fairly ubiquitous. Even 'default' doctrines make use of laser weaponry in some form. Therefore, most countries have access to laser weaponry. Whether or not its top of the line or wide-spread throughout you military or not depends on your doctrine. Higher ranking doctrines will have better weaponry generally.

Address from Gen. Eddie Uthiya of the ZAF-PG (Zambian Armed Forces - Provisional Government) to the nation, Lusaka
    "Dearest people of Zambia,
We enter today a new era. The last warlordism in our nation has been defeated and we hope that a return to democracy will be swift.
Our society cannot survive in its current state we must work together, no matter our tribe, our culture, our skin or our economical standing, and in the fires of a new democracy forge the pearl of Africa!
"To this effect, I renounce several sweeping reforms throughout the year, culminating in my stepping down in favor of free elections. Long live Zambia, long live Africa, and long live the Second Republic of Zambia!"

To the Democratic Republic of the Congo

To help grow international trade, increase quality of life in both UK and the Congos, and safeguard the environment, the United Kingdoms government desires to provide subsidies to promote the development of biotechnology firms in the Congolese jungles, with the stated goal of studying the local fauna and flora and engaging in gene mining. We are also willing to provide training to the locals who may live in the area to be able to work as staffs to our biotechnology firms overseas.

The progressive people of the United States, tired of war and damage to our country call upon our fellow Americans, Canadians and Mexicans to discuss an end to this conflict. We propose a meeting in a neutral location to discuss a post war order.

While United Kingdom lacks sufficient influence in the Americas to actually affect change, the UK government also echos the call for peace in the United States. I propose a ceasefire between both parties of the US until negotiations can take place.

(OOC: Btw, UN headquarters were in New York... where is it now...?)

The state of Argentina is more interested into discovering who armed and instigated the socialist side in this civil war. Our intelligence service has been getting...disturbing reports.

Canada is pleased at the start of talks, and, as a neutral power in this conflict, is willing to host delegates from both sides in Ottowa.

    Effectively yes.

I'll post a mini-update probably tonight or tomorrow to provide some perspective on player-controlled nations but you should have a lot of what you need to start already.

Please feel free to develop your nations as you see fit (within realistic self-imposed limits).

    Political Parties in Greece:

    New Democracy

The oldest still active party of Greece, it is the ruling party right now. It is led by the current Prime Minister, Christos Yannakakis, and is a liberal conservative party founded in 1974. It was the party that brought democracy to Greece and under it's rule Greece joined the EU. A proponent of European integration, it had remained out of power for about a decade, during which the 'Movement of Social Democrats' took Greece out of the EU (Grexit). Since then, 'New Democracy' has accepted the Grexit and alternated to power with the 'Movement of Social Democrats'. New Democracy won the 2044 elections (with 43%) and now rules Greece. Both liberals, conservatives and populist right wing politicians co-exist in the party and the current leader is a liberal conservative.

    Movement of Social Democrats

A social democratic party, it was formed in 2017 after the merging of the social liberal 'Potami' party, the social democratic 'PASOK' and the center-left 'Democratic Left' party. Although at first small, by 2021 it was able to overtake Syriza as the main social democratic party of Greece and was the party under whose rule Greece exited the EU. It has since alternated to power with 'New Democracy'. After it lost the 2044 elections to New Democracy (gaining only 31%), the 'Movement of Social Democrats' has elected a new leader, Dr. Nikolaos Yiannitsis, son of a former Minister of Health of the party. The 38 years old young politician hopes to make the difference and win back the party's voters.

    Anti-Capitalist Alliance

A small leftist party, it was formed in 2028 after the merging of the 'Communist Party of Greece', 'SYRIZA' and 'Alliance of Overthrowing Capitalism' parties. It has far left policies and believes in the dictatorship of the proletariat. In most elections it gains between 4% and 6% and although it maintains it's voters, it cannot make a breakthrough due to how radical the policies it advocates are. In 2044 it gained 5%. It's leader is 67 years old Antonios Papanikolaos, a veteran Communist politician.

    21st April Party

The '21st April Party' is a far right party. It advocates closure of the borders, burning of the parliament and establishment of a Junta. It took it's name from the date of the coup that brought the Junta to power (1967 - 1974). The '21st April Party' was formed in 2030 after the merging of several political parties such as 'Golden Dawn', 'Popular Orthodox Rally', 'Christian Democrats' and 'Greek Patriotic Union'. Although until recently it was a relative minor party, in the 2044 elections it gained 13% and became third largest party of Greece. It's main opponent is 'New Democracy' as both wish to attract right wing voters. It's leader is 41 years old Yiannis Anastasiou.

Ghanas new foreign minister approaches the Republic of Brazil (The old minister had to retire after he let his intern send the diplomatic note to Britain).
THe goverment of Ghana asks for assistance in training and equiping of our Air force and Navy.
Our nation is peaceful and tries to always seek a diplomatic solution.
But still, there are nations in our region which expand agressiv and we need to be ready.
In return we would offer lower prices for rare minerals from Ghana and also offer special rights for Brazilian companies when it comes to infrastructure projects in our nation.
