I like the idea, but I have to say it looks like she's wearing tie-dyed flares. In fact I think I saw several people wearing trousers like these on their way back from the Reading Festival last week.
Soooo I've started doing traditional art again. While the lines aren't as clean and there's no color, I can churn out this work much better and I've always preferred my traditional lines due to there not being a pixelated feel to them.
Spoiler:
A request from a friend. He wanted poor Sonic trying to outrun a giant's foot. Umm... I'd say the giant's going to win.
Spoiler:
Juuuust Supes duking it out with Sonic. The sad thing about toys is that they always break eventually... ah well!
Spoiler:
I've been meaning to draw this for a while.
Sonic the Hedgehog was the first game I ever played. While I fell out of the fandom after Sonic 3, only barely showing interest in SA, my brother acquired a copy of SA2 in 2001. I played and played it, and was disappointed when it was bugged so I couldn't finish the last story. I made sure to get a better copy and was able to finish. Ever since then, I've followed the games(main ones, anyway) without delay.
I don't care about the folks who say Sonic's dead. I don't care about the folks who only care about the franchise because friend xyz is in it. I don't care about those who "grew up" out of Sonic and pressure me to do so. I don't care about Sally not being in the games, or how Fleetway Sonic is more awesomesauce than Archie Sonic, or anything of the sort.
He will always be the blue blur to me, and no game reviewer will convince me otherwise.
Anyway, rant over. Will have more art at another time.
I've made use of SAI before but it doesn't seem to change much. Though I'll need to try it once I have a tablet that doesn't make me slam it against the wall.
Some very beautiful works can be made in digital media, but I'm limited to a mouse and a very unstable tablet.
When I was on holiday I did 13 drawings, but I've had to wait to be able to scan them. I drew them on a small (and expensive) pad that's smaller than A5 and the paper for some reason a kind of tobacco stained yellow. Looking at them again after I scanned them in I can see how terrible they are, where I get even simple things like basic proportions and faces wrong. It might be because I can't ever practice, or my eyesight becoming worse, or the small paper, but I guess it's because I'm just rubbish at any kind of drawing.
Before I went on holiday, I played a lot of Ultima, mainly IV and a remake of V, so most of my drawings I did were inspired by those games.
Spoiler:
For this one I stole the armour and pose from the Ultima VI cover.
Spoiler:
This I decided to try a ranger style clothing. The designs I ended up stealing from Fable, which I also played a lot before leaving.
I also tried to draw the Companions of the Avatar. For the poses I stole them from a Ultima website, and the faces mostly tried to copy from the Ultima V remake. The armour designs are mostly stolen from Fable, as I don't have an imagination.
Spoiler:
Dupre
Geoffrey
Iolo
Jaana
Julia
Katrina
Mariah
Shamino
After that I drew some other things.
Spoiler:
This is the first time I ever tried to draw anyone holding a guitar. I tried a different kind of expression on the face, the hair I stole from a photo of a female singer from a metal band.
Spoiler:
This is St Catherine's Island, the only scenery drawing I did, and after drawing it I was reminded why it's bad to try and draw outside.
Spoiler:
This is the last drawing I did, on the second to last day. I ended up rushing it.
I'll be uploading some new stuff soon.
School just started for me and I've got an assignment where
I'm to do about 3 pages worth of thumbnails from a script for a comic.
