True but India/Pakistan's nuclear deterrent should still act as a deterrent and not something that can be swatted away by China using North Korean atomic bombs. Even in the case of SOLs, the weapon has to be in the right spot at the right time and unless India, for whatever reason, has let itself fall far far far far behind, it should have ASMs by this point. What I"m saying is that it doesn't make sense for China to just rollover India and become a liberal democracy and still emerge a superpower somehow through it.

I just thought I'd share some input on this.
NAE: There's an easy way to elaborate on this. After enough Western intervention and support for Israel in the Middle East, why not say leaders began to drift away from the Sunni/Shiite split and attempt to appeal to ethnic Arab nationalism? Also, I see no reason why North Africa should be withheld from their territory seeing as how much of North Africa is a lot closer to Arab than African.
AC: The Central Asian states and North Corea I can understand. These states are all very friendly towards the PRC. I would also include Pakistan as well, seeing as how the two nations share an all-weather relationship. I do not see India, Mongolia and Vietnam in this picture. Those countries are way too diametrically opposed against China to join with them together in the context of a future borne from our own timeline. I agree with Sonereal as well; the PRC would NEVER let Japan re-militarize over it's own dead body.
The part about China and Russia demolishing each other is...I don't know how to feel about that. They have historically had sort of an on-off relationship with each other but the only way I can see the relationship resuming into an "off" state is if the U.S.A becomes less significant in the picture.
UFWH: See the USN from the Front Mission franchise. However, such a state should not be too stable. Again, see the USN for reference. Because power and influence is overwhelmingly concentrated in the former American states, South American USN member states often attempt to break away and seek independence from the USN. Racial and wealth inequalities also play a factor in this.
FJI: I don't see an issue with Japanese Siberia but again, it conflicts with China's agenda. Also, I don't think the South Coreans would allow a Japanese occupation again and I think they should be represented as part of an independent bloc.
EU: I may get flak for this but I think Turkey should be counted amongst the EU.

Because Arab nationalism doesn't make sense given Iranians don't consider themselves Arab. However, in that case, the NAE would lose Iran and possibly Afghanistan and certainly Turkey in exchange for North Africa.

I would change the American thing into an EU (in our time), sorta of organization and turn the Asian Collective into a Chinese-dominated form of the EU. India, Vietnam, and Mongolia should be independent. Japan should ditch it's colonial efforts on the mainland (since China would never have allowed that) and instead form an open economic-military union with South Korea and possibly Vietnam and India.
Turkey should be part of the EU, Iran independent (and Afghanistan as well to pretty up the map). I would actually say Iraq as well given the amount of Shia there as well but if Iraq remains in, no problem. They should gain control over North Africa, especially on a Arab Nationalism line.
South American should probably be divided up. Brazil, today, is a growing economic power to be trifled with and has a large population. In the future, it should be a major power of it's own. The should be independent, as should Argentina (I don't know much about the rest however).

A cooperative military-economic union between South Corea & Japan is certainly within the realm of reality. However, such a union should expect to experience turbulence & moments of fractured infighting from time to time due to their history (or constant reinterpretations of their histories to be exact).
If we are ditching the UFWH, yes, Brazil should most definitely be at the forefront of the South American states.

Here is a storyline, and a map, that fix some of the things people pointed out. This is meant as a seperate chapter.
The world powers of the 2140s had appreciated a very stable world for a long time. This was due, in large part, to the fact that people did not wish to destabilize the world again through social change. The survival of many of the larger states, among them the Asian Collective and the Federation, depended on this reluctance. This was about to change. The following is the Upheavals, told through news articles.

Brazil Secedes!
This is John Sholtz with all the news under the Sun. I am sorry to report that Brazil has seceded from the Federation. Citing a large gap in the standard of living, Brazilian President Franco Alvarez announced his decision in front of the Federation Council. The Councilors from Argentina and Chile also withdrew from the Council. Their respective governments have not seceded, yet. However, they are threatening to do so if their demands are not met. Among their demands are....Asian Collective Assembly Building Bombed!

Today the Asian Collective Assembly Building was bombed while the Assembly was in session. 20 of the 25 Assemblymen were killed along with the Assembler.. Asian Collective Internal Security received a message from the Tura Naab, a terrorist faction that fights for an independent Indian state, claiming responsibility for the act. Two other bombing attempts, one on the Assemblers Palace and one on the Asian Collective Archives, were thwarted by ACIS. With the Asian Collective government almost totally destroyed the southern portions of the Collective have fallen into chaos....New Arabian Sheik Assassinated!

The NAU has ceded these territories to the South African Empire, due to the fact that it cant spare any troops to retake them. The South African Empire is becoming increasingly aggressive, it is the opinion of this reporter that this wont stay cold for long....
