too bad they cancelled commanche, if i had spend that much money and had the design all worked out i would at least build 50 of them, or maybe even less

Have you ever heard of the P.1154 Harrier? The P.1154 was going to be a supersonic V/STOL but it was cancelled by Britain in favour for buying F-4 Phantoms. The P.1154 was near completion when it was cancelled. The P.1127 Kestrel, which became the modern Harrier incorporating features found in the P.1154, was also going to be cancelled, but was saved thanks to the US Marines
