AC-130 Gun Ship:

It's not like it's pretty, but I'm in awe of the fire power. I have a lot of respect for a plane that can take a beating the P-47:

But my favourite has to be a P-51:

Beautiful. I have a love for the chivalry of war. Missiles ruined air combat :(

Whaddaya mean the AC-130 ain't pretty? It's a flying artillery battery, fer crying out loud. This thing can just fly in a big circle around it's target (a firebase or a town) and pound the life out of it. After the fighters have gained total air supremacy, of course. The AC-130 screams: "sitting duck" to any modern fighter.

ac-130 spectre, cargo plane with holes cut out on the side
i like the old version without the 105mm, and with 2 40mm bofors and 2 20mm gatling guns

if the enemy has anything bigger than AKs to fire at it, this plane is pretty much useless

heres a c-47:

Oh I see. I assumed that since they changed Wehrmacht to Bundeswehr, they would have changed the air force name as well.

This amazing beast the type of plane that dropped both atomic bombs on Japan B-29

"Luftwaffe" is just the German word for "airforce". The USAF is in German die amerikanische Luftwaffe.

In this thread you shall post images of weapons of war of any kind. These images will not be restricted to any timeframe, purpose, or any other specification, other than that they must have, at some point, been a military weapon! Obviously it makes more sense to post more recent stuff (the past two or three hundred years, to be specific), but really, anything goes!
