Well, Hobbsyoyo, in the future, when someone extends the Olive Branch, keep your unsolicited personal assessment to yourself...
I kept my personal assessment of you to myself, when I offered it. That's how it works.
This isn't, hey, let's talk about why I don't like you and why I post like I do to you... because that goes nowhere fast.
Olive Branch means, let's declare peace and move forward.
See how TF and I did it? That's how it is supposed to operate.

I tried to explain why I couldn't do that. I hoped for a response that listed your problems with me that explain why you attack me so viciously so that we could talk it over, perhaps come to an understanding or some sort of gentleman's agreement.
I wasn't going to be take your offer and be a rude punk and just ignore it or say 'no thanks jerkwad!'. I cannot accept the offer of a truce, I explained why I cannot, I tried to explain that my words in this thread were not meant as a personal attack but rather and explanation and explicitly said I am open to the same kind of explanation that goes into detail about how I've been a massive jerk to you.
This spat will not be put to rest with a simple olive branch 'let's be friends' because I won't let it. I need dialogue before I'm willing to let it go.

I don't think this thread should be used for a cover from which to launch into a public diatribe about why we dislike each other. I'm pretty sure a moderator already said the same thing in this thread.
That's what PM is for if you simply had to discuss it all before you could move on.

People can discuss why they have issues with other posters in this thread. It's happened before and there's no reason why it can't happen again. You're entirely missing the point I was trying to make and ignoring what I have to say on the matter when you describe my post as a diatribe.

Launching into an unsolicited diatribe is not a two way discussion just because at the end of the thrashing you toss in... You can say what bothers you about me now.
It's the equivalent of tossing crap in my face and saying, you can do the same to me now that I've done it to you. I never wanted to publicly toss crap into your face... that you took the liberty to do it to me says a lot about your character, especially when I was offering peace and a successful peace offering had just occurred in the post just above your scathing assault on me.
I'm done discussing this. If you don't get it still, I don't care. Come back to me, privately, when you do.

I'm glad you mentioned the dog piling around GW16 and MC. I'm guilty of it, and I hate it.
GW doesn't have as many years behind him as some of us - and for that he should be envied
I re-read something I wrote for a personal journal project in high school, and I was shocked at how my words came across to my older self. Reading them 20 years later was a very, Umm, interesting experience. It's not fair, kind, reasonable, or fruitful to demand of a teenager the same perspective as a person who's been working at a crappy job for longer than he's been alive. When I read his posts I wonder how his views will change through time, as they certainly will, and I hope he sticks around so we can take part in that, vicariously. None of us can do our own lives over.
And as regards MC, I always look forward to his opinions, as they bring me far from my normal. And diversity of opinion can only broaden a discussion.
Seriously, that guy is like the mathematician of conservative thought - so pure, and standing far out in front of the practical applications ala that xkcd that I'm failing to link

Happens to us all... ideas change with the times, if you're paying attention anyhow.
And yes, diversity of opinion is huge to me... which is why I try to unseat group think at any all opportunities... and I know I'm not a smooth politician. I used to jump out of airplanes and kick in doors for a living, I'm intense.
