The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

Unfortunately not, you also need to change startingTurnYear in CvRhyes.cpp and recompile.

Maybe this is more of a bug, but the year is 708 AD and the Arabs (me) take Mediolanum. The Roman Empire collapses and the Carthaginians come back and then have Rome as their capital. Then the next turn I destroy one Carthaginian Legion and Rome re-emerges...

Oh yes, another thing that did happen (which I have a save of but not a screenshot of) is when I traded a tech for the Korean world map, and then Korea collapsed straight after the deal. I didn't even end the turn, they just collapsed.

both of these are supposed to happen.
if one of the ancient mediterranean civs collapses their cities go to one of their competitors
and if you give/sell a tech to a civ it triggers a stability check, which can cause an unstable civ to descend into anarchy

however the collapse of one civ causing the rebirth of another one that just collapsed seems excessive to me.

"Is this where we do the Crusades?"
"No you idiot! I think we're in the wrong desert!"

Tatarstan independence! Seriously, I've never seen Arabia that deep into Russia.

Arabs be hoarding oil.

Isn't there supposed to be a indy city for me to flip?! Rolled 2 start, both like this. Seems AI has learned my Varanasi-squatting strategy, and this is their revenge.

Just playing a Tamil game for a non-UHV, but I've played many of them far, and this is the starting situation in cca. 90 percent of the time.

No. Indies spawn only for AI tamils.

Citis: nothing better than machineguns vs longbows. We'll see how this reconquista goes.

I don't know what's going on, but a weird bug gives extra techs to civs.

This is sweet, really sweet:

1. As Persian, I founded Gordium.
2. Roman fielded their conquerors to fight me.
3. They took Gordium.
4. I took Naples and Rome from them.
5. With heavy troops nearby and my units wounded, I called a cease fire with them.
6. Their army of legion + catapults warped to Gordium.
7. My recovered knights broke the cease fire and captured Milan, collapsed Romans.
8. Gordium joined my civilization, along with 6 legions and 4 catapults!!!!!!

Today I felt like playing as Prussia after watching a documentary on WW1. So I load up a 3000 BC game and I was expecting a strong France (as usual) and I got this instead:

"Oh this is cool, I've never seen them named that before." So I decided to peak at the WB. I was kind of amazed at what I saw.

At least I know that would of been up for grabs had I made Austria collapse (with the flip and better units and such) but then my game crashed. :|

Ethiopia always overexpands and then collapses due to that, which is sad as I always try to cultivate them as my slave-source :(

In my current game as Korea the AI is really strong in terms of tech. Persia founds Islam in 530. If they did it in 600AD (like I usually do^^) due to the tech-cost-decrease..okay, but wow, they're teching like mad and I'm stuck being small and stuff^^
