The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

What? The Vikings were know for having a few trading post. They just went beyond their usual commercial range.

Korea isn't bad, but it certainly isn't great. Maybe I just don't know what to do with it.

East: Use it as a staging point to attack China from and the best balance of quickest+safest way to beeline the capital.
You have your back to the water and the front is much narrower than the generally preferred approach from southern China, which is wide and treacherous.

West: Swift amphibious assaults against Japan can be launched from Corea.
Almost every major city save for the ones facing the Pacific are within strike range if you have a fleet ready there.

General: Great resource arrangement in the peninsula in general.
Only a bit Hammer poor unless the Iron is in your BFC.

Yeah. when i play as Japan, my main goal is to get a few samurai, and just rush Seoul and take it. it's generally one of my best cities.
Korea's biggest issue as a civ is it's got a small core. the land itself? for the amount of land you have it's quite productive and easy to defend. so long as mongolia doesnt come your way before your ready.

Made vassals of Germany, Portugal, Ethiopia, and Mali. This should be fun.

Pretty. I mean, look how well England has colonized North America and how Tibet is still alive.

Something really needs to be done about the Mughals though. They always seem to be way to strong and England never does a successful trading company.

Oh yeah, and then there's Rome.

It won't be that bad: Rome is still producing legions and longbowmen.

This morning, I decided to do a 3000 BC Egypt run. I usually play ahistorically with Egypt, often conquering Greece and one other civ (Usually Rome). This time, I decided to conquer Carthage instead, though I failed epically, because I did not factor in the War elephants that quickly retook Carthage. Anyhow, after failing the conquest of Carthage, I switched to Alp Arslan and watched the world.

Looks like the West[ern Roman]'s war in Afghanistan has began a little too early.

The Jewish empire arises from the ashes as a last attempt effort to secure its sovereignty. Jews from Jerusalem and Alexandria revolt against Egyptian domination and establish their own kingdom. The Kingdom however, was shortly lived:

I don't know how often this happens, but Egypt as Catholic holy city:

Meh. It's not uncommon, as Afrosiyab probably had a barb defending or an Independent archer. Plus, I think that area is Uzbekistan. Gotta give credit to Egypt for taking over Athens though.

Is it possible to change the start dates for civs just in python or do you need the full source? I'd like to change Tibet to 2010 and roll a few starts just to see what the world looks like. And survive the modern world with a feudal kingdom in the mountains
