The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

IIRC, in RFC the Arabian historical area stretched from the Maghreb to the Philippines

It is year 1320, I am Turkey, spawned just 4 turns, fighting Arabs, and suddenly, all Egypt plus Jerusalem and Mekka joined me. This made the game ridiculously easy.

I wish I had half of that luck. The majority of times I start as the Turks, the starting situation is either disastrous, or it is just plain buggy--a few times the Turkish cities were all invisible and I couldn't build anything with them.

Take this savefile and play on!

The way I finish the 4 wonder UHV: move capital to Rome, found protestantism there (switch to Catholicism - printing press - liberalism - switch to free religion).

No, you can see the Muslim holy city in Jazan (I think 1S of the normal Mecca location). The AI does that very occasionally.

Vedic Aryans invade India. Geographically accurate but seems to be anachronistic.

Instead of sending troops through the overland route, the Byzantines launched an amphibious invasion at southeastern Italy.

In one of my games AI Britain once occupied Egypt-Sudan, Libya, and the Levant; but I didn't take any pic because I thought its some sort of conqueror/trade company mechanic. But it haven't happened again in several games I've played later on, so I wonder... Is this just a new trade company/conqueror mechanic that I haven't experienced before or have I just missed the chance to document one of DoC AI's greatest achievement ?

No scripting here.

In my America game, before I used divine intervention to correct it, Brazil was conquering Morocco, the Congo, and Spain.

Argentina and Brazil love to make silly conquests, ie Iceland and Indonesia.

Started up a Rome game to find Supercarthage with 3 cities in Africa and 2 in Spain and a gigantic African war elephant/archer doomstack army. I Trained up my legions and Dow Carthage and pulled off a crushing victory 1s of Lugdunum and captured Barcelona and Nova Carthago then ferried my legions to Africa to finish off Carthage. I Capped Rusadir and moved onto Carthage itself. In the middle of the siege non other than Scipio Africanus himself spawns in Rome so I ferried him over to Africa as quick as I could and and took Carthage with Scipio Africanus and my super city raider legions.

attached is a pic of (what's left of) the Legio I Africanus outside the last Carthaginian stronghold of Ora and the former Carthaginian cities.

I'm barely into it but this has been my most historically fulfilling and fun Rome game ever, a proper punic war is too fun!!!!
