The problem with today's youth

I blame video games and mtv

Real violence existed well before movie and video game violence. Video game and movie violence do not cause violence, they merely channel the violence creatively. Furthermore, Movies like Terminator do well in places like Japan and Europe, yet they do not have nearly the violence rate of the US.

I think you missed the sarcasm

That's just because we know how to make it look like an accident. :mischief:

Kids these days need to get the hell off my lawn.

The problems with todays kid is that they are too soft and not used to the harshness of life, they live a life thinking that the world owes them, that they have rights.

Rights??? Of all the nerve why I never in all my days

QFT. But also, I got reminded by a random sports blogger.

I could go with a different name for the current young generation (called "Millenials" and broken down at 2000 by the media, which as I said before I find silly). But anyway, the "Notre Dame sucks Generation" does have a nice ring to it, from the question young children ask their parents: "Daddy, why do show this Notre Dame team on TV? Did they use to be good?"

 I like that, I'm going to use it now.

The reality is that kids were probably much worse in the 70s and 80s when I was growing up. Look at the youth crime rates in the US back then, they were off the charts.

Yeah but at least the youth gangs back were fairly well dressed and used to dance while they fought. They had class back then. Just look at these wonderful bastards:

You won't see gangs doing this sort of thing today. Sad times we live in. No one appreciates a good song and dance routine during a gang fight now.

The guy on the left is exactly why that gang got picked on.

Before we know it, us Millennial Generationers will be yelling at the Generation Zers to get off our lawn!! :p

Even if these kids are the outliers, it's still the result of our society that encourages feelings of entitlement. Many of today's "problem" children have parents that have lived off government cheese their whole lives, and you don't need to go any further than your nearest TV set to see it -- just turn on any episode of Maury and you'll see that for as long as we coddle the undeserving and the stupid, we will face this problem in these groups.

There are of course no undeserving families with good parents living on benefits and all well-to-do parents are excellent role-models, right?

Look how great Paris Hilton turned out! That's proper parenting for you.

Holey inferences, Batman! Didn't I just get through saying that these kids were probably outliers?

That's an inference of your own, you know.

Or, for that matter, self-entitled middle-class people.

Err, Im technically on "government cheese" (WTH? I like cheese but its too expensive for an everyday thing except that disgusting no-name cheese spread) and Ive not done drugs, alcohol, sex, crimes, etc etc.
