So when did Slavic = Eastern Europe?

It's more like Slavic ∈ Eastern Europe, and in that case, 600 BC or so.

Read what I said again. I said that a nation with a Slavic majority is a sufficient condition for being part of Eastern Europe, not a necessary one.

Over the years, NOBODY has made a valid reason why Poland is Eastern European that doesn't involve communists, the cold war, or which side it is on on a flat map.

The only people that are posting here are mostly trolling idiots with no lives.

If it makes Eastern Europeans feel any better, Russia is traditionally viewed as not being in Europe at all, but rather a quasi-European-Byzantine-Asiatic bastard, and therefore despotic and barbaric, and causing the eastern frontier of Europe to shift west from the Urals to where Russia's borders are. So, Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, while you're in Eastern Europe, at least you're still in Europe! Be proud to be Eastern European!

If this was the case, then sure why not? Ukrainians are basically Russianiazed Polesmischief, Lithuanians shares lots with us, and the Balts are Northern European.

As far as I know, even Russians do not consider themselves "europeans" (but someone from Russia should write here, because I may be mistaken). The fact though is that the border of Europe is at Ural. So if we divide it only into two parts - then yes, it's in Eastern. But Poland was always much closer to West than East (in older times it was a facinating mix of east and west). Right now there's a difference between Poland and Russia in many things, so actually one cannot mix us together. Last 20 years changed everything. So we shouldn't divide Europe in two parts right now - but into three instead (at least).
