The universal "Poland is in X" thread

In what context is 'Eastern Europe' and 'Western Europe' useful terms today, really? I can't think of a discussion where I would group countries like that (except for some cold war discussion perhaps).

All countries that were EAST of the Berlin Wall are EASTERN EUROPE.
All countries that were WEST of the Berlin Wall are WESTERN EUROPE.

Poland, Romania, etc. are Eastern Europe.

So half of Germany is Eastern European too?

It makes no sense to divide things by the fallen Berlin Wall 20 years after it fell. :crazyeye:

Poland is in all you guys' imaginations.

It is in Northern Europe, obviously. I do feel bad for the Baltic nations being overrun by the Ukraine, though :( They should be free. Oh, and this also settles the Finand <=> Scandinavia question once and for all.

Half of Germany is not east of where the Berlin Wall once stood. Do you even know where Berlin is at? They must not teach geography in Poland.

I approve! Florida has become too liberal in these last years. Get some good conservative Poles down there instead!

Eastern Europe.

For Americans - in a part of this big mass of earth rising from the big blue water that lies far, faaar away in the direction the sun rises, next to your biggest and permamently anchored aircraft carrier :D Or simplier "Europe - the place from which you got a civilization".

The Scale is totally wrong though, Poland is less than half the size of Texas.

It's not quite that small, but yes, I had to resize it a bit in order for it to fit snugly by Florida.

OK, since everyone is picking on Poland here, I'll take the opposite state on the issue. Poland should return its lost lands back. It should be that way. Though of course, it makes Poland more Eastern European then before:

And a Russian says so?

Just to ruffle the feathers a bit. Well, I guess I could demand Smolensk and Chernigov back, in that scenario Russia actually gains some territories that it doesn't have now. In worst case, there's always partition .

Haha :D I've got a better idea. Let's just divide Ukraine - you take east, we west. Imagine - no orange revolution anymore in future and everyone will be happy ;)
