I have a FREE Canadian Championship semifinal 2nd leg Toronto FC vs Montreal Impact ticket for tonight's game to give to anyone who is interested in going.

Really good view from my seat, I sit a couple rows above the cameras they've set up at the most optimal vantage point (I'd presume, anyway).

The game is at 7:30pm tonight in Toronto, if you know anyone who might be interested, let me know. I wouldn't want the ticket to go to waste, so if anyone can make use of it, I'm offering it for free. First come first serve. Anyone interested? This is only open to Civfanatics members & their friends, family members & colleagues. ;)

"Baddle", "cawdon", and "bruddle".

Hey, Mr Viking, are you an American?

For some reason, it won't accept my recordings. My microphone works fine for everything else.

Your voice doesn't sound as cool and badass as I thought it would be. :(
Haha I was thinking the opposite, that it's like I expected and also loosely badass.

I had a type of sashimi recently that I've never had before... it was dark yellow with a slightly crunchy texture and sweet taste. It had a bluish/silvery skin on the outside. The waitress told me the fish is called "heavy wo" ("vho?"). She pronounced it a little differently each time she said it... anyways, googling the name hasn't led me to anything. Any idea what it was?

It was definitely fish and not tamago (egg).

Help me! One of those Windows updates that decides it's going to restart your computer whether you like it or not has completely removed the keyboard's functionality. When I look at the device properties I see this: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"

I've tried restoring it to before the problem, but upon restart the computer will automatically install the update again, regardless of the fact that I've changed the settings on updates to not be able to force me to. So I assume that that only applies for the "fifteen minutes to restart!" method. And I can't go into safe mode, because naturally that requires use of a keyboard.

EDIT: Found a way into safe mode without the use of a keyboard, and after restarting again I was not forced to update. My keyboard is working again. I am still concerned about the prospect, though, because nothing I've found online gives any hints as to what mechanism lies behind it. It could be that my success is due to restoring to an even earlier point, rather than going into safe mode at all.

I am looking to procure a GoPro or something similar for my Norway trip - to help document some of my outdoorsy activities (hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, etc.) My camera is capable of 1080dp video, but it really drains the batteries, so I would prefer to stick to my camera for photo purposes only.

I have found this alternative to GoPro which is less than 50% of its price. COSTCO stocks two different versions:

Version 1
Version 2

They seem to be identical, with these differences: Version 1 allows you to shoot 60 frames a second - essentially I think allowing you to shoot "in slo mo". It also allows microSD cards up to 32GB, but has no wifi capabilities.

Version 2 is $50 cheaper, comes with wifi, but doesn't allow you to shoot at 60 frames a second - but limits you to a max of 30. It also only allows microSD cards up to 16GB.

As far as I can tell these are the only differences. I am not really sure what I would use more - the wifi capabilities or the slo-mo shooting mode? I think wifi would be more handy (for integration with my phone), but I haven't really though it through. The microSD size limitation on the wifi model doesn't bother me too much, but it does a bit.

This is the company that makes the product. There aren't many reviews for these 2 products online that I could find.. I found a couple and it seems that people say it is a good product that works well... or that it's a problematic product that is not easy to configure and set up - I assume that the 2nd group of reviewers are mostly "greenhorns/idiots" who don't know much about technology and expected this to be an exact gopro replica, for people without brains. But that's just a guess on my part.

Does anyone have experience with a GoPro or this alternative product? I just want to strap it on to my bike, head/helmet, or kayak, and record my trip from unique points of view. I don't care too much about selfies. Waterproofness is important. I've looked at various GoPro incarnations, and the Hero 3+ Silver looks great.. but is like $370. This alternative product is a lot cheaper. I can get a hero3 white for $250 or so, but the picture quality seems to be a lot worse than the silver. What do you guys think? Any tips or suggestions?

60fps is fantastic, I'd go for it. Plus, more memory. 16GB of video is tiny.

Does anyone know what kind of GPS unit would work as a handheld off the roads don't get lost in the woods unit and a mounted in the car navigation unit?

Crud. I was thinking Garmin makes some nice ones, but those run more money than I remember them doing.

The ones I'm seeing are either car only or handheld only. :dunno: I was kinda hoping for one i could use for either.

& Cutlass

I'm sort of tempted to just splurge on a GoPro now. I think wifi will come in very handy - this thing doesn't seem to come with a remote.. and so it seems that my phone would be the only wireless device I could use to control this thing.

I mean, for the most part I just want to mount this thing on my bike, kayak, and head (or chest?) and record as I'm walking, biking, or kayaking. So wifi would not really come into play.

I'm going to have to look into the cheapest goPro, I can get it for about $150. Maybe it's better than either of these options, although the goPro 3+ seems to have much better video quality.

I have a car mounted one, it's getting to be 10 years old rightabouts, and its mappack only shows roads, but it works at foot pace. At least well enough that it would show you which way you're moving and which way there is a road. Just not if there is anything in your way between here and there.

Bunch of muppets. Those SWAT teams really need to review their procedures.

Still, making hoax calls is a pretty antisocial thing to do, imo.
